NEW FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
"Art Uncontained" | New Fund from CBC & Canada Council Announced
A new initiative announced on April 21, connecting Canadian artists and art lovers that includes original programming from CBC Arts and across the CBC network, as well as a new artist fund in partnership with the Canada Council for the Arts.
Federal Funding Increase for Arts & Culture Announced
PM Trudeau announces targeted help for some hard-hit sectors on April 17. Announcements include providing $500 million to Heritage Canada to aid workers in the arts, culture, and sports sectors.
The Fund is meant for organizations that can't qualify for the existing wage subsidy because of the lumpy or irregular nature of their revenues as well as to cover contract workers. The Fund will also provide advances on future grants and contributions to help maintain liquidity as well as small subsidies to cover some fixed costs. Read the f

Canada Council Announces Digital Origins Fund
Available to artists, groups or organizations that can either adapt their existing work or create a new work for digital dissemination to the Canadian public during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Digital Originals offers a $5,000 micro innovation grant from the Canada Council.
Canadian Writers Emergency Relief Fund
For Canadian Writers and Visual Artists (who have had their work previously represented in print), facing lost incomes due to the pandemic.
