Climate Stories of Dufferin Project
Accepting submissions until September 30, 2021
You don’t need to be a scientist to talk about climate change. From residents, business owners, farmers, schools, community groups, or youth, we all have a story to tell about the changes and impacts we are observing in the places we live and how we are responding to them. Dufferin wants to know:
- What in your local environment or community is special to you?
- How does climate change threaten the people and places you care about?
- How are you taking action on climate change?
|
|
|
By sharing your story, you will help give others a deeper understanding of how climate change is impacting life in Dufferin and inspire others to take climate action.

Eat Think Vote Campaign
Food Secure Canada
Making food an election issue
Food Secure Canada is leading its third edition of Eat Think Vote (ETV), a non-partisan campaign gathering community members living coast-to-coast-to-coast to talk with their federal candidates ahead of the upcoming election and make sure that food is an election issue. The goal is that the incoming government develops policy that encourages a food system where everyone has dignified access to healthy and sustainably produced food in the context of pandemic recovery and the climate emergency.
Read ETV's assessment of what the main political parties are saying about food leading up to the federal election.

Culture and Celebration
We value food as a celebration of our agricultural heritage, cultural diversity and community connections.
Local food contributes to a stronger sense of community.
Culture and diversity are celebrated through food.
The following actions will help ensure that the Culture and Celebration goals are achieved:
- Encourage events that increase knowledge and build skills about agricultural heritage and locally grown foods.
- Promote healthy, local and culturally relevant foods into markets and community events.
- Highlight and celebrate local food champions in the Headwaters food system.
