Message from Father Storey
|
|
As we are now halfway through Lent, have you reflected on how your Lenten journey with Christ has progressed? Have you taken time to repent and prepare for Easter?
Our Father
will
receive us with open arms; He
will
welcome us back to the family and prepare a banquet for us. The love of God is everlasting. He welcomes sinners and eats with them.
We have many opportunities for receiving the Sacrament of Penance (Reconciliation) here at Curé of Ars:
- First Saturday of the month after the 8:00 am Mass
- Wednesdays during Lent 6:00 – 7:00 pm
- Our Lenten Penance Service will be Sunday, April 7 at 3:00 pm
- Times for other Lenten Penance Services throughout the Johnson County Region can be found below

School of Religion Lenten Project
|
|
Please help us with our Lenten Project for the homeless. Our goal is for the students in School of Religion to put together
200 Blessing Bags for the Homeless
which will then be distributed through Uplift Org. We will be including a message with the Good News of Jesus’ death and resurrection in these bags.
We appreciate any donations!
- Please bring donations to the vestibule on the weekend of April 6-7
- Food: granola bars, packaged peanut butter or cheese crackers, canned tuna with pop top, fruit cups
- Self-care: socks (black or white), toothbrushes, razors, band aids, combs and also personal-sized Kleenex, face wipes, toothpaste, shampoo, body wash, lotion, deodorant
Please be sure items donated will fit into gallon-size zip lock bag as a kit for the homeless. Thank you for your support!

Seven Last Words of Christ
|
|
This Curé of Ars tradition will be presented the Tuesday of Holy Week in the church at 7:00 pm. The evening is a powerful presentation of scripture, reflection, and beautiful music that places you in the presence of Jesus on the cross. This is a not-to-be-missed presentation for your family and friends.

National Release -
Unplanned
- March 29, 2019
|
|
Make your plans now to buy a ticket and see
Unplanned
on the opening day, March 29. Please visit
www.unplannedtickets.com
to confirm if your local theater is showing the film.
People are particularly encouraged to view the film on March 29 if they’re free, since that will boost the opening box office and thus keep “Unplanned” in theaters longer.
From the March 22 article in The Leaven-
“I think ‘Unplanned’ is a story about conversion, a story about redemption,” said Archbishop Naumann. “In many ways . . . Abby is a Saint Paul for the pro-life movement today, and her story has the power to open hearts, change minds and inspire people.
“I pray that many will see it and be influenced by it.”
