Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion ~ April 10

Holy week begins as we commemorate Jesus’ triumphant entrance into Jerusalem followed by his Passion on the Cross.
Seven Last Words of Christ—Tuesday, April 12, 7:00 pm (In person and Livestream)
This Curé of Ars tradition will be presented on the Tuesday of Holy Week. The evening is a powerful presentation of scripture, reflection, and beautiful music that places you in the presence of Jesus on the cross. This is a not-to-be-missed presentation for your family and friends.
Holy Thursday ~ April 14, 7:00 pm (In person and Livestream)
On this day we celebrate the Mass of the Lord’s Last Supper. We remember how the Eucharist began and recall Christ’s command of service through the washing of the feet. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament follows in the church until 11:00 pm.
Good Friday ~ April 15, 12:10 pm and 7:00 pm (In person and Livestream)
On this day we remember the death of Christ and the power of the cross. We hear the story of the Passion according to St. John, venerate the wood of the cross, and partake in Holy Communion. Good Friday is a day of fast and abstinence. Stations of the Cross will follow the noon liturgy.
The Great Vigil of Easter ~ April 16, 7:00 pm (In person and Livestream)
The Easter Vigil is the first Mass of Easter and the most glorious Mass of the church year. This is the night of great rejoicing as we light the new Easter candle and listen and respond to the great stories of our faith - the Scriptures; Our catechumens and candidates are welcomed into full communion with the Church; We renew our own baptismal vows, and come to the Eucharistic table, as renewed members of the Body of Christ.
Easter Sunday ~ April 17

Easter morning begins the 50-day period of celebrating Jesus’ resurrection, the hope of our resurrection, the Ascension of Jesus into heaven, and the joyful conclusion of the season of Easter on Pentecost.

Uplift Clothing and Blanket Drive
|
|
Curé of Ars Parish is hosting a Clothing and Blanket Drive to help provide support for UPLIFT on Sunday, April 10. UPLIFT is an all-volunteer homeless outreach program. They are not funded by federal, state, or local government grants or sponsored by other organizations and/or agencies. Uplift survives by donations and your personal commitment to feed and clothe the area’s homeless. You can help by donating gently used items in good condition, for example, blankets, sleeping bags, clothing, hats, gloves, etc. Thank you for responding to this opportunity to serve. The UPLIFT truck will be accepting Tax Deductible donations before & after the 10:30 am and Noon Masses on Sunday, April 10.

Magnificat Subscription Order

MAGNIFICAT is a monthly, easy-to-read pocket-sized worship aide for daily Mass, Sunday Mass, personal prayer, and meditation. We offer you the opportunity to save on your 12-month subscription through a parish bulk order. The order is shipped to Curé and your copy will be available for pick up at the church each month beginning July 1st.
Sign-up for your new or your renewal subscription during April and May. Registration will be available after all Masses on April 23/24, April 30/May 1, and May 7/8. Renewal forms will also be available in the parish office during this sign-up period. Please complete one form for each subscription and make your check for $30 per subscription payable to Curé of Ars and note Magnificat in the subject line. Please leave the completed form and payment at the parish office. Orders must be placed no later than May 8th.

Curé of Ars invites you to join us in the church, or at home via the parish’s Livestream, following the 6:30 pm Mass on Tuesdays for our Lenten Series, "Christian Art: 2000 Years of Inspiration" by Donna Houtteman. Her final presentation is on April 5: Christian Art: To Be or Not To Be.
A little about our speaker: Donna Houtteman created ART BLOCKS as the culmination of a lifelong passion: creating, exploring, embracing, engaging, and finally sharing her love of art. Donna's background includes:

Curé of Ars BSA Troop 395 will be selling trash bags throughout the year. Bags are $13 per roll. Sizes available: white: 15-gal (65/roll); yellow: 39-gal (25/roll); blue: 55-gal (16/roll). We also have paper yard waste bags at $5 per pack of 5 bags or 3 packs of 5 bags for $12. Please support this fundraiser to support this parish youth leadership program. Fairways to Heaven Sponsorship Opportunities

The 2nd Annual Curé of Ars Fairways to Heaven Golf Tournament - presented by O’Neill’s - will be held Friday, April 22, 2022, at Swope Memorial Golf Course. This SOLD OUT event is an opportunity to support Curé while promoting your company or business to the community. There are currently a few opportunities to help:
- A limited number of Hole Sponsorships are available to purchase. In return for your $250 gift to the school, your company name and/or logo will be assigned to a hole on the golf course.
- We are in need of prizes for games on the course and winning teams. Ideas include speakers, AirPods, range finders, sports memorabilia, golf accessories, gift cards, etc.
Your support will be seen and appreciated by 144 golfers as well as volunteers, all from the Curé community. The limited Hole Sponsorships will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Curé of Ars has served a meal every month to the hungry at St. Mary's Food Kitchen for over 30 years. This ministry is a great service to those in need and a great opportunity for Curé parishioners to come together as a community. Cure of Ars serves approximately 350+ people every third Monday of each month. We need your help.
Volunteers leave the church at 7:30 am on the third Monday of each month to serve lunch to the hungry in Kansas City, Kansas. Volunteers are also needed to provide food items such as taco meat, shredded cheese, baked goods, and fresh fruit.
