Curé of Ars News
Holy Week Schedule
Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion ~ March 28, Regular weekend Mass schedule
Holy week begins as we commemorate Jesus’ triumphant entrance into Jerusalem followed by his Passion on the Cross.

Holy Thursday ~ April 1, 7:00 pm (In Church and on Livestream)
This day we celebrate the Mass of the Lord’s Last Supper. We remember how the Eucharist began and recall Christ’s command of service through the washing of the feet. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament follows in the chapel until 11:00 p.m.

Good Friday ~ April 2, 12:10 pm and 7:00 pm (In Church and on Livestream)
On this day we remember the death of Christ and the power of the cross. We hear the story of the Passion according to St. John, venerate the wood of the cross, and partake in Holy Communion. Good Friday is a day of fast and abstinence. Stations of the Cross will follow the noon liturgy.

The Great Vigil of Easter ~ April 3, 7:00 pm (In Church and on Livestream)
The Easter Vigil is the first Mass of Easter and the most glorious Mass of the church year. This is the night of great rejoicing as we light the new Easter candle and listen and respond to the great stories of our faith - the Scriptures; Our catechumens and candidates are welcomed into full communion with the Church; We renew our own baptismal vows, and come to the Eucharistic table, as renewed members of the Body of Christ.

Easter Sunday ~ April 4,
7:30am / 9:00am(In Church and on Livestream)/ 11:00am / 1:00pm
Easter morning begins the 50-day period of celebrating Jesus’ resurrection, the hope of our resurrection, the Ascension of Jesus into heaven, and the joyful conclusion of the season of Easter on Pentecost.
The Seven Last Words of Christ
This Curé of Ars tradition will be presented on the Tuesday of Holy Week, March 30th at 7:00 pm. The evening is a powerful presentation of scripture, reflection, and beautiful music that places you in the presence of Jesus on the cross. This is a not-to-be-missed presentation for your family and friends. We will have the performance live with seating in the church as well as available online at www.cureofars.com/watch-mass.
Prayer for our First Communicants
Join us in praying for the 92 Curé of Ars children who have been preparing to receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion this year and who will complete their journey to God's table in April.

"O Jesus, You have loved us with such exceedingly great love as to give us the ineffable gift of the Holy Eucharist, inflame us with a burning zeal to promote Your glory by praying for our Curé Children to prepare worthily to approach Your holy table for the first time. Protect, O Sacred Heart of Jesus, these young souls from the assaults of evil, strengthen their faith, increase their love and endow them with all the virtues that will make them worthy to receive You. Amen."

Due to warranty work scheduled for the summer in the Parish Activity Center and School, we will not be having Vacation Bible School or Totus Tuus this summer. We are very sorry and look forward to having the kids back in the future.

World Day of Prayer for Vocations - April 25
World Day of Prayer will be observed on Sunday, April 25, 2021, also known as "Good Shepherd Sunday." The purpose of this day is to publicly fulfill the Lord's instruction to, "Pray the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into his harvest" (Mt 9:38; Lk 10:2). Please pray that young men and women hear and respond generously to the Lord's call to the priesthood, diaconate, religious life, and societies of apostolic life or secular institutes.
Year of St. Joseph
We just celebrated the Solemnity of St. Joseph on March 19. St. Joseph is widely honored as the foster father of Jesus, husband to the Virgin Mary, and protector of the Catholic Church. As we continue our Lenten journey to Easter, we can all be encouraged to consider the individual virtues that strengthened St. Joseph in his roles. Through his model, we can find ways to strengthen our commitments in our lives.

To help you find ways to pray with and learn from St. Joseph, please visit https://archkck.org/yearofstjoseph/ to find great resources for individuals, families, parishes, and schools to grow during this year through the guidance of St. Joseph.
Sister Julie spoke to the Curé students about St. Joseph this week at Mass.

St. Mary's Food Kitchen
Every third Monday of each month, Curé of Ars provides lunch at St. Mary’s Food Kitchen. Prior to March 17, 2020, Curé of Ars parishioners would prepare and serve a hot meal that was enjoyed in the dining room; averaging between 350-400 meals served. Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, St. Mary’s had to switch from hot lunches to sack lunches. The number of lunches Curé of Ars now provides is approximately 750-875.

How can you help? We will be collecting donations again on April 17. Please go online, https://cureofars.com/st-marys-food-kitchen to sign up to donate your food, water, time (help put together the lunch sacks), and/or give a monetary donation. We are also collecting reusable bags to help with distributing lunches.
