Message from Father Storey
Gaudete – Rejoice!

CONGRATULATIONS, FATHER TONY! Sunday, December 8, 2019, we have an extraordinary reason to say “Gaudete! Rejoice!” Sixty-five years ago Sunday, Father Tony was ordained to the priesthood in Rome, Italy. As you know, this exceptional priest, at 91 years of age, is still working in priestly service for you and your souls. As you leave church this weekend, please take a moment to wish Father Tony “Happy Anniversary” and thank him for his dedication to our parish. His has been a remarkable journey: from a farm boy in Eastern Kansas; to St. Benedict’s College in Atchison, KS; to attending seminary in Rome, Italy; to celebrating 65 years as a priest. I must say it again: Congratulations, Father Tony! May God bless you always!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SISTER JULIE! We have another reason to say “Gaudete! Rejoice! Sunday is Sister Julie’s 90 th birthday. We are blessed to have her as a vital part of our parish. There will be a tea in the Father Burak Room this Sunday, December 8 from 2 - 4 pm honoring Sister Julie. Please try to come and honor Sister Julie on this awesome occasion. Happy Birthday, Sister Julie! May you have many more!

Faith, Hope and Charity Campaign
Our Faith, Hope and Charity Campaign is off to a strong start and we are grateful to have reached over $5 million in pledges. We appreciate all of the early responses we have received and hope to hear from all parishioners as to their intent, even if they are unable to give at this time so that we can fulfill our goal of 100% participation. Please visit our website at www.cureofars.com/faith-hope-charity-campaign to keep current on the progress of the project with construction updates and pledge totals, complete your letter of intent, or set up payment processing for your pledge.

After the 9:00 am Mass on December 15, please join us in the Father Burak Room to attend an informative session with Kathleen Fox, Executive Director and Founder of GRATIA PLENA HOUSE.   Gratia Plena ("Full of Grace") assists adult women to discern a call to Consecrated, Religious Life. Since 2014, this House has been affiliated with Holy Trinity Parish in Lenexa and provides residential community life to adult women to discover their vocations. It is a unique ministry -- come and learn more!
St. Mary's Food Kitchen
Curé of Ars has served a meal every month to the hungry at St. Mary's Food Kitchen for over 30 years. This ministry is a great service to those in need and a great opportunity for Curé parishioners to come together as a community. Curé of Ars serves approximately 350+ people every third Monday of each month. We need your help. Our next day to serve is December 16th.

Volunteers leave the church at 8:30 am to prepare and serve lunch to the hungry in Kansas City, Kansas. Volunteers are also needed to provide food items such as taco meat, shredded cheese, baked goods, and fresh fruit. To commit to bringing a donation or volunteering to serve, please go to https://cureofars.com/st-marys-food-kitchen.

For more information, please call Jacqueline at 816.520.3620 and leave a message or email [email protected].
