Help Stop Taxpayer Abortion
Your voice could help save millions of lives. The Hyde Amendment has protected Americans from funding abortion for 45 years. It’s credited with saving the lives of over 2.4 million children to date. Now, powerful members of Congress want to take away this law that both Democrats and Republicans have supported for nearly half a century. Without it, billions of taxpayer dollars could go to abortion. That means abortions would be cheaper, easier, and funded with our taxpayer dollars. It is critically important for Catholics to send a strong message before Congress moves forward to impose taxpayer-funded abortion. Because of the incredibly high stakes, Congress needs to hear from a massive number of people. We need millions of Catholics to sign the petition! Please sign at NoTaxpayerAbortion.com and encourage others to do the same. Thank you!
Catholic Single Parents Group
Are you a Catholic Single Parent looking to connect, and find a deeper connection in our community? You’re not alone! The last Saturday of each month, fellow Catholic Single Parents meet for a night of joyful camaraderie. Children welcome. 6-8 PM. Potluck outdoors (weather permitting), maintaining social distancing. For more information, call, text, or email Audra McMahon at 816.507.6941 or audra@audramcmahon.com. This event is open to all Catholic Single Parents in the Diocese.
Every third Monday of each month, Curé of Ars provides lunch at St. Mary’s Food Kitchen. Prior to March 17, 2020, Curé of Ars parishioners would prepare and serve a hot meal that was enjoyed in the dining room; averaging between 350-400 meals served. Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, St. Mary’s had to switch from hot lunches to sack lunches. The number of lunches Curé of Ars now provides is approximately 750-875.
How can you help? We will be collecting donations again on July 17. Please go online at https://cureofars.com/st-marys-food-kitchen to sign up to donate your food, water, time (help put together the lunch sacks), and/or give a monetary donation. We are also collecting reusable bags to help with distributing lunches.
Many Curé of Ars' parishioners have expressed interest in starting an evening book club. If you would like to meet and discuss books of all genres, please send an email to yorkiegirl41@gmail.com to join the book club. Meetings will start in September and go to May.
Please include in your email:
