Message from Father Storey

New Assignments
  
The May 24, 2019 edition of The Leaven had two announcements in the new priest assignments article that are of particular interest to Curé of Ars Parish.
 
We want to warmly welcome Father Colin Haganey as our new associate. He was one of the six transitional deacons who completed seminary formation and was ordained to the priesthood on May 25 by Archbishop Joseph Naumann. His assignment will be effective July 3. He prefers to be called Fr. Haganey.
 
Fr. Haganey is no stranger to Curé of Ars, having served here for a brief time during this past year. We will feature him in an introductory biographical sketch in a future edition of our bulletin.   
  
Father Justin Hamilton has been assigned by Archbishop Joseph Naumann as associate at St. Joseph Parish, Shawnee, effective July 3.
 
We want to thank Fr. Justin for his time of service here at Curé of Ars. We will host a reception honoring him sometime in June. Watch the bulletin for details.

Father Storey's Birthday and Anniversary
15th Annual Holy Smokes BBQ
The 15th Annual Holy Smokes BBQ is scheduled for the weekend of May 31 - June 1. All parishioners are encouraged to join the celebration of faith, fellowship, food and fun as a participant, attendee or volunteer.

  • Everyone is welcome to the BBQ Dinner for just $5.00 in the school cafeteria from 5:00 - 6:30 pm on Saturday, June 1st. No advance ticket purchase required. 

  • Blue Ribbon Bake Off - Bring your favorite dessert between 3:30 and 4:00 pm to the school cafeteria. The categories are: Cakes, Pies, Bars & Cookies, and Other.

  • Kids' Dessert Contest - Kids, 13 and younger, can enter the Kids' Dessert Contest with any non-frozen dessert. Entries will be judged on: taste, appearance & creativity, and complexity. Please bring your entry between 11:30 am - Noon.

Discover God’s Call for Your Life! God is calling you to a unique purpose in life, a work of love that only you can do. Discern your spiritual gifts and begin to discern God’s call. You have received gifts in Baptism and Confirmation through which God intends His love to reach others. Come and discover these gifts in you!

Non-parishioners: $45 | Registration opens July 15th
Fee includes lunch and a booklet
Please register early as space is limited.
This workshop is designed for adults at least 21 years old.
