Fast and Abstinence
Lent is a season of prayer, fasting, and service in preparation for Easter.

Fast—All Catholics ages 18 through 59 are bound by the Law of Fasting on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday: one full meal with 2 smaller meals not to equal one full meal.

Abstinence—All Catholics who are 14 years of age and older are bound by the Law of Abstinence: abstaining from meat on Ash Wednesday, all Fridays during Lent, and Good Friday.

St. Mary's Food Kitchen
Every third Monday of each month, Curé of Ars provides lunch at St. Mary’s Food Kitchen. Prior to March 17, 2020, Curé of Ars parishioners would prepare and serve a hot meal that was enjoyed in the dining room; averaging between 350-400 meals served. Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, St. Mary’s had to switch from hot lunches to sack lunches. The number of lunches Curé of Ars now provides is approximately 750-875.

How can you help? We will be collecting donations again on March 13. Please go online, https://cureofars.com/st-marys-food-kitchen to sign up to donate your food, water, time (help put together the lunch sacks), and/or give a monetary donation. We are also collecting reusable bags to help with distributing lunches.
