Learning about the RCIA process
The first step in the Rite of Catholic Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the Precatechumate, or Inquiry, stage. You will be led to deepen your relationship with God and discover the Catholic faith. We encourage you to ask questions, hear the Gospel, and share your faith with Catholics who are members of the Curé of Ars parish community and with other men and women who are also exploring the Catholic faith. This Inquiry stage will help you discern if you are ready to move onto the next step, the Catechumenate Stage. At Curé, the Inquiry Stage will run October 1st through November 12th and meet on Mondays from 7 to 8:30 pm in the Father Burak room. To learn more about RCIA or to join, please go to cureofars.com/rcia , email  [email protected] , or call the Parish Office at 913.649.1337.

Looking for a way to nurture your child’s faith?
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a self-directed Montessori-based approach to children’s religious formation. It is rooted in the Bible and the Liturgy of the Church and based on the understanding that children, already in a relationship with the Holy Spirit, can grow in spirituality and faith given the opportunity to express that relationship within a structured environment. Classes are held in a simple setting called an “atrium”, a quiet place to hear God speak to their hearts and work with child-sized materials to encourage exploration. These items include a small replica of the altar, the sacred vessels, and vestments used in the Mass. CGS is divided into three Levels based on the development of the child. Curé of Ars offers a Level I (ages 3-6) Atrium and a Level II/III (ages 6-9 and 9-12) Atrium. Classes begin in October and enrollment is open now. For more information, please go to www.cureofars.com/goodshepherd .
