Message from Father Storey
Thank you to everyone that stopped by our Curious about Curé event last weekend. We were able to register many new families and share information about Curé with those who came by. We are blessed to have a busy and vibrant parish! Thank you to all that help every week to build up the body of Christ here at Curé.

October is Respect Life Month
You're invited to join Catholics nationwide in celebrating Respect Life Month this October with the message "Every Life: Cherished, Chosen, Sent!" Curé of Ars has three events planned to celebrate in October:

  • Life Chain: Be a link in the Life Chain on Sunday, October 7th from 1:30-2:30! Life Chain is an annual, peaceful, prayerful public witness of thousands of Americans standing in honor of 60 million lives lost to abortion, praying for our nation, for people in crisis, and for an end to abortion.  We will stand with signs on both the north and south sides of 95th street in front of Ranchmart. Signs are provided or you can make your own sign and bring it! Meet us for ice cream and to pick up posters at Foo’s at 1:00 pm, or just pick up posters in the parking lot by McDonald's. If you don’t usually take pro-life action throughout the year, this is the one activity in which you can easily participate!

  • Baby Supplies Drive: Curé of Ars is collecting much-needed baby items to donate to our local pregnancy centers for families in need. Please bring your donations to church anytime October 6th-14th and place them in the baby crib in the vestibule. The items in most need right now are: diapers-especially sizes 4,5,6, new onesies, new sleepers, packs of baby socks, shampoo, lotion, and body wash for babies and moms, wipes, Tylenol for children, new teething toys, pacifiers, and car seats. For a complete list or questions, contact Joanna Rivard at 913 620-1758 or [email protected]

Middle School Bible Study
The middle school youth of Curé of Ars are invited to join us twice a month for a middle school Bible Study. Sessions are topic-based and loaded with both fun and information. Youth will have the opportunities to have their own questions answered as we relate the Word of God to our everyday lives and the life of the Church. While special attention is given to support middle school Confirmation formation, interested high school youth are always welcome to attend. The Youth Bible Study meets from 5-6 PM two Sundays a month in the ARS II conference room located in the Parish Office Building. Our first two sessions will be held on October 28 and November 11.
Clothing Drive to Support Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is hosting a clothing drive to raise money to support our growing program at the school and parish. Please drop off all your unwanted shoes, clothes, towels, sheets, and blankets to the Clothing Fund trailer in the Curé parking lot from October 6th to October 14th. Please remember to place shoes in a separate bag from fabrics as we receive a higher proceed for each pair donated. For any questions, please contact Joni Rundle at [email protected].
