Halloween and Costumes

Halloween falls on a Friday this year! We will continue to allow costumes. Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 2 will have a costume parade in the upstairs hallway in the morning for the older classes. We will have an all-school Halloween Assembly in the PAC at 2:00, hosted by STUCO. Room parents can get in the classrooms beginning at 2:05 to set up.  Parties will start in the classroom at 2:30.

Please review the guidelines below. If students do not follow the guidelines, then they will be sent home.  The kids have been told this. Please ensure they follow the guidelines when they exit the car, so you don’t have to come back up and retrieve them, as we want them to have a great day!

Guidelines:

No masks, props, or weapons (fake or otherwise)

No face paint

No blood/gore/scary

Must follow school guidelines on length/ modesty

Item or concept must be appropriate for school

No group costumes, this is a time for children to celebrate their uniqueness not a time to exclude others.

No inflatable costumes

Anyone who does not want to wear a costume may come in black and orange, spirit wear, or uniform. I always find onesies to be a great and easy costume with pants and a t-shirt underneath. Dressing as a saint is also a great costume that honors the true spirit of the holiday. We will offer a prayer for the dead at the end of the day.

We have included an article from the Vatican on Halloween and the Catholic Church.
