Curé of Ars Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award 2022-2023

Julie Haas

In 1994 a family in the parish wanted to do something special for our teachers at Curé of Ars. They have long recognized the dedication, sacrifice and continuing contributions made by all the teachers in our school. With the goal to foster excellence in education at Curé of Ars school, the McGurren family established the McGurren Family Endowment. Their objective is to recognize, reward, and retain outstanding teachers at our school.

Each spring our teachers are given the opportunity to nominate a teacher they truly believes deserves this honor.  A selection committee of several individuals including members of the McGurren family, Fr. Storey, and multiple principals from other Catholic schools meet to review the applications and make the difficult decision.

We are excited to announce that the recipient of the Curé Outstanding Teacher of the Year for 2021-2022 goes to Mrs. Julie Haas!  Mrs. Haas  is one of our 3rd grade teachers that has dedicated her years of service to Catholic education and is beloved by the entire school community of students and staff.

Mrs. Haas has received a beautiful plaque recognizing her accomplishment as Teacher of the Year as well as a monetary reward from the McGurren Family Endowment. Congratulations, Mrs. Haas

Congratulations to Mrs. Ledom

We would like to bid a big, special farewell to Mrs. Ledom as she begins her retirement.

The impact that Lisa has had on her students and on this community is too big to measure. From the little but impactful gestures she does to support her colleagues, to the greater community acts of faith and service.  Thank you, Mrs. Ledom, for your years of dedication and service to students.

We wish Mrs. Ledom the best of luck and hope she enjoys travel, grandkids and family!

Google Accounts

Starting June 1, the student school Google accounts will be turned off for the summer. For graduated 8th graders, the accounts will be closed permanently. For the rest of the students, the accounts will be reopened when school resumes. This means students will not be able to access their email or drive during the summer. This will allow us to do necessary updates to the accounts. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Follis at terri.follis@cureofars.com

School Family Portals

Beginning June 1, your school family portals will be disabled while we conduct our summer maintenance. Your account will be activated early August.

Testing

We have just wrapped up all of our end-of-the-year testing. Your student should be bringing home their Acadience results and, if your student is in 3rd-7th grade, their Kansas Assessments & MAP scores either today or at the beginning of next week. Please look for a run down of our school's performance on MAPs and KSA early next week.
