Due to the spike in COVID cases in Barnstable and on the Cape, and the fact that Barnstable has been designated a high-risk town, Sturgis Library will return to curbside-only service starting Monday, January 4th, 2021.
NEW! Rather than leaving curbside bags outdoors, we will provide curbside pickup in our vestibule from 10 to 3:30 Monday through Saturday.
- Please enter the vestibule through the original library entrance. The outer door will be open. The curbside table will be there with your scheduled items.
- Please do not enter the rest of the building. The inner vestibule doors will not be open.
-
Masks MUST be worn on Library property when picking up curbside or returning books in the book drop.
-
Only one person at a time may access the curbside pickup area. Please observe social distancing rules.
- Takeaway crafts and other materials for children and families will also be available in the vestibule for pickup.
You may call the Library at 508-362-6636 to arrange for curbside pickup of your materials, to request items be held for you, or to get staff recommendations for good books, movies, music, and puzzles!
We will continue to offer virtual programming for all ages, as well as 24/7 wifi from the parking lot. Telephone and email reference is available as well as contactless copying (call us for more information).
Weather permitting, we will also be offering our fresh-air book sale outdoors on our patio. Look for the book sale sign near the parking lot entrance -- this will indicate that there is a sale that day. Payment may be made by leaving money in the provided envelopes and leaving payment in the book drop. Remember to bring cash on book sale days!
