Please note the following detour, lane closure and night work updates for the I-64/I-264 Interchange Improvements projects in Norfolk and Virginia Beach:
Curlew Drive
- Curlew Drive is closed near the I-64 underpass until approximately March 18 for underground utility work. Traffic is detoured via Military Highway, I-264 and Newtown Road. Access will remain open to all residences and streets off of Curlew Drive.
Kempsville Road
- Kempsville Road is reduced to one lane in each direction near the I-264 underpass until the end of March for bridge demolition and reconstruction work.
Newtown and Greenwich Roads
- Motorists will encounter recurring daytime single-lane closures on Newtown and Greenwich roads when traveling through the project area.
Night Work
- The Phase I contractor has some construction activities, including on Curlew Drive and on I-264 near Kempsville Road, scheduled to continue into the night over the next several weeks.
