Week of October 6-12, 2025
See below to find out what is happening at Curley this week!

As we look forward to Spirit Week and Homecoming, please note that there will be a special part of Homecoming Day, as the blessing and dedication of The Citro Pavilion will take place at 10:45 am. This new structure, a gift of Joseph ’69 and Arleen Citro, will house livestreaming, announcers and scoreboard controls, as well as offering a hospitality room and portico. Mr. Citro is a member of the Curley School Board, chairs the Endowment Advisory group, and along with Mrs. Citro, they support numerous projects to enhance the educational experience of Curley students. I am hoping we have great attendance for the dedication so the Curley Family can collectively extend our thanks to this generous couple.

Spirit Week is here! There is certainly a growing sense of excitement on campus for the events surrounding Homecoming. From thematic dressdown days to mini pep rallies, each day will help us celebrate what it means to be Curley. I look forward to celebrating our Curley Brotherhood with our students.
Homecoming is a chance for the current students and parents to join with Curley alumni, alumni parents, and other friends, who are “coming home” to Curley. I know that what makes them most proud is the success of our current Curley Men! I hope to see you on campus for Homecoming on October 11th.

Attention all Current Curley families, grades 9 through 11!
Now that the 2025-2026 school year is fully underway, this is the time of year that is crucial for our families to start applying for financial tuition assistance for the 2026-2027 school year.
The FACTS Grant and Aid applications for the 2026-2027 school year will open on October 15, 2025. All families that currently receive any type of Curley tuition assistance are reminded that a Grant and Aid application MUST be submitted every year. We are aware when filling out your application that your tax documents for 2025 will not be available; however, you still must fill out and submit your application. When your 2025 tax documents become available, you will then upload all requested tax documents to your FACTS Grant and Aid application. The Grant and Aid application deadline is Monday, December 15, 2025.
It is also the time of year that we ask our families to take advantage and research any external scholarships for the 2026-2027 school year. You can find this information on the Curley website under the Tuition, Scholarships & Financial Aid tab. Don’t miss out on any external scholarship opportunities since each one may have specific application deadlines. If you have any questions, please contact Cris Wilson at cwilson@archbishopcurley.org.

Students received their Fall Raffle ticket packets on October 1, 2025, from their faculty advisors. The raffle winner will have their choice of free tuition for the 2026-27 school year or $10,000 cash. All sold tickets are due back by November 12, 2025, and families are reminded that per the tuition agreement, each student is required to return a minimum of $100 worth of sold tickets (or be charged $200 on their tuition). This raffle benefits every Curley family as money raised goes directly toward the school's operating budget. There will be "Top Seller" prizes and any student returning $150 worth of sold tickets will have his name entered into a drawing for 25 Visa gift cards. If we reach our $80,000 goal, students will have November 26th (the day before Thanksgiving) off from school. Additional tickets can be picked up from the Advancement Office at any time during school hours. Thank you in advance for your support of this important Curley fundraiser! Please e-mail Barry Stitz at bstitz@archbishopcurley.org with any questions.
**Please note that students received their ticket packets a week earlier than what is listed on the school calendar due to Spirit Week.

The Semper Fi Scholarship is open to Catholic students at Curley. The scholarship process involves the completion of an application, along with supporting documents from the parish and the pastor that evidence a commitment by the applicant and his family to living their Catholic faith. Essays from the parent and student are part of the application.
A student may receive this scholarship in any year of his education, and it is renewable on an annual basis (using a simplified application). A committee, comprised of the donor and Archbishop Curley H.S. administration, will determine the annual awards.
The applicant is responsible for meeting the deadline of December 15, 2025, and having all related material submitted by that date. Applications, in print or digital form, may be obtained in the Main Office from Mrs. Raynor.

Blackfriars' fall play, A Radio Play - It's A Wonderful Life, will be holding auditions on Tuesday, October 7, in the auditorium after school beginning at 3:15 pm. Anyone interested in being part of this production needs to submit an application form. Those desiring to be in the show will be asked to do a reading from the script, which will be provided. Once your audition is done you are free to leave or stay around to support others in their audition. Some roles will be to portray one character in the show, while others will be asked to portray several different characters. That's part of the uniqueness of doing a radio play -- one performer can play multiple roles. Information about the rehearsal schedule will be available at the audition.
The dates for this fall production are November 21, 22, and 23. The radio broadcast will begin at 7:30 pm on Friday and Saturday evenings, and at 2:00 pm on Sunday afternoon. Tickets will go on sale in early November. All advance sale tickets are $10. The weekend of the show the prices are $15 for adults, and $10 for students and seniors. Curley students have free admission with their school ID.

Our Brotherhood is strongest when all members are present. Sharing our gifts and talents with the community only builds up our Brotherhood and contributes to our Franciscian traditions. As we enter the second month of school, parents are reminded of our school's late arrival policy, found on page 24 of the Student/Family Handbook. At the 5th lateness, a student will be issued a detention. Subsequent latenesses will also receive a detention up to the 10th lateness. At the 10th lateness, a student will be issued a Saturday Detention. Please let me know if you have any questions.
