Week of May 19-25, 2025

From the President

With the graduation of the Class of 2025, we not only add to the ranks of Curley Alumni, but we see the growth and accomplishments of a fine group of young men—two good reasons to celebrate. It’s great to reflect upon so many accomplishments by these students during their four years, and exciting to learn of their future plans. Congratulations to the Class, and thank you Parents of the Class of ’25 for choosing Curley and for supporting the school, the teachers and the mission. We hope you know that you remain a part of the Curley Family, and are always welcome at events. I ask that, if possible, you continue to offer financial support, just as others have contributed to your son’s education.  Alumni Parents are a wonderful part of the Curley Family.

-- Fr. Donald

From the Principal

We are preparing for major school celebrations to be held during the upcoming week: Baccalaureate and Commencement. Certainly for the Class of 2025 these moments mark a transition in the lives of our Curley Men. They indicate that this chapter is complete, and they are ready to commence the next phase. We are proud of them and certainly wish them well. We pray that they carry with them the lessons we taught here and use them to make good and wise decisions in the future. We hope they use the skills and gifts they developed to be successful, and apply them to help the world around them. We encourage them to continue to work hard, to be men of character, and to make time for the Lord.

Similarly, we encourage our other Curley Men to use these next two weeks wisely. The end of the quarter is close and exams will be here before we know it. It is important that students finish strong and prepare well for those end of year assessments.

-- Jeremy Joseph ’96

From the Assistant Principal of Academics

Congratulations to our seniors! I thank all of the faculty and staff who worked with these students over the last four years and you, the parents, for your continued support along their journey.

Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors have two weeks left in the academic calendar prior to final exams. Go HERE for the Final Exam schedule. Please remind your son(s) to check Plus Portals on a regular basis and to see his teacher(s) if he has questions. I also encourage students to see their teachers for extra support and help if they are struggling in any of their courses. My door is always open if they ever need anything.

Attention Class of 2025 Families --

Final senior transcripts will be sent to ONE "school" once they are finalized in the beginning of June. "School" means enlisting in the military, trade/vocational school or program, 2-year community college, and 4-year college/university. Please check with your son to make sure he has marked one school in his SCOIR account as ENROLLING. If there is no school marked as ENROLLING in his SCOIR account we will not know where to send his final transcript. If he's attending a trade school that is not listed in SCOIR, please let Mrs. Berkey know where to send his final transcript. Just about every post high school program needs proof of high school graduation.

Attention Class of 2026 Families --

Please remind and encourage your Junior to finish the year STRONG and begin NOW to prepare for final exams. If he's going to be applying to 4-year colleges and universities, he will send out those applications before the end of the first quarter of his senior year. His six semester unweighted and weighted GPAs is what is sent out with his initial college applications. Go HERE to access six effective study techniques for high school students. This five minute Ted Talk covers three tips on how to study effectively. Good Luck!

Attention Class of 2027 and Class of 2028 families --

It was wonderful to "see" all of you who attended the Zoom meeting last Wednesday night. We hope you found the information provided to be helpful.  You can go HERE to access the Zoom recording and Google slides from the night, if needed.
