In Our Generation

Compliance, trauma and information overload can thwart attempts to show up as courageously “righteous”in the face of suffering. Today we explore both modern and ancient biblical sources for inspiration.

Local poll monitors needed!

California Immigrant Policy Center and the Santa Cruz County Immigration Coalition are looking for people who can help monitor local polling places on election day, Tuesday, November 3, from 5:00 p.m. until polls close and the last person votes. A 90-minute online training will be required. If you are interested and available please sign up here.

Holiday Support

Once again, our Fellowship is supporting Farmworker Families during the holidays by donating $50 gift cards for the children.  The Center For Farm Worker Families suggests we buy Target gift cards since many families shop there. If you purchase a Visa card instead, please be sure that the gift recipient will not incur a charge to use the card. Gift cards can also be for less than $50. Place your gift card in an envelope with your name, email address and amount donated and give it to Lorraine Sandoval or Patty Bernstein. You can also drop it off at the Fellowship office, but do not write a check made out to the Fellowship.

Please submit your donations by November 30.

The farmworker families are always so grateful for your generosity, especially at this time of year when there is less work in the fields, money is scarce and the threat of ICE is ever-present. ❤️

Shared Plate Recipient for October:

Prophets of Hope

A program of Peace United Church of Christ, Prophets of Hope provides a compassionate presence to inmates at Santa Cruz County Jail facilities and their families. Along with regular weekly spiritual services, Prophets of Hope gives timely supplies to those it serves. Our donations will help pay for key items needed by women being released from jail, food items for families, plus special meals and goodie bags for inmates during the holidays. Holiday gifts like books, art supplies, games and sports equipment will go to the juvenile, men’s, and women’s jail facilities.
