| | | | | September 15, 2022 Dear Friends in Christ:
On March 22, 2020, I moved the photo of Fr. Wallace M. Probasco from the vestibule of the sanctuary to a place above the desk in my office, 143 years to the day after his death.  He was the seventh rector of St. Timothy's, and died of smallpox, contracted while performing his ministry among the people.  I moved his photo to my office so that I could talk to him when things got rough, and so I could ask him to pray for us, and so I would be reminded not to be reckless in my own ministry. | | Although our time with COVID is certainly not over, I decided it was time for Fr. Probasco to return to his colleagues in the vestibule.  You will now find him just above the light switches.  Be sure to tell him, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

The plaster guy has finished up his part of the work throughout the building, and we are now getting painting estimates from a few companies to finish the job.On Sunday, September 11th we had our first monthly Children's Sunday, and it was a delight to see all their smiling faces! Special thanks to Sarah Emmert for taking the lead on planning that. Looking forward to next month. Our Choir is back, and announced their return by offering a lovely a cappella anthem spread throughout the sanctuary. Rehearsals are Thursdays at 7pm, and all are welcome to join us!Tuesday night our monthly Taize' service returned, and was well attended both in person and online.Yesterday we brought back anointing with oil for healing at our Wednesday services. A welcome return after more than two years without. | | | | MINISTRY FAIRE, SEPTEMBER 25th Among the things that slipped off the radar during the height of COVID was our annual Ministry Faire.  This is an opportunity to learn more about the various ministry opportunities at St. Timothy's, and a chance for you to find ways you might want to serve.  There will be signup sheets and brief descriptions of our ministries of Worship, Hospitality, and Outreach, which make us WHO we are. | | | | ECW RUMMAGE AND BAKE SALE The ECW Rummage & Bake Sale will be held October 7th and 8th. Please start bringing any items (no clothing, please) that you'd like to contribute. Also, starting the day before the sale (Oct. 6th), you can start bringing any cookies, brownies, etc. that you'd like to contribute for the bake sale. They ask that you please fill out one of these FORMS if you're intending to bring baked goods. You can also find those forms on the table in the parish hall. You can also call the church office 330.833-3183 and we can fill one out for you. | | | | FALL GARDEN CLEANUP On October 29th, from 10am to 12pm, we will have our fall garden cleanup, where we put the beds to bed and put the leaves to compost. More details will follow, but please mark your calendars. | | | | STOVE UPDATE Thanks to a couple very generous donations in memory of Fr. Erv Smuda and Will Miller, we are pretty much set to purchase a new stove for our kitchen, which will allow us to move forward in starting a community meal (which was put on the back burner in 2020). The next step is to form a small committee of folks willing to seek out the best quality unit and to follow up with supervising the switchover. If you're interesting in helping with this, or especially heading up this committee, please see Fr. George or Senior Warden Jon Silvis. | | | | PRAYERS REQUESTED When you ask for someone to be added to the prayers, they will stay on our list for four weeks unless we hear from you. We will maintain a continuing prayer list for those with ongoing needs. The email list below merges both lists. Please be sure to let us know if someone should be taken off this list so we can focus on those in need.
Please pray for the people of Ukraine & Russia, that they would be kept safe and live in peace and safety.  And please also keep these friends and parishioners in your prayers:

As always, you can choose your background color, number of puzzle pieces, and even set it to display just the edge pieces. Plus, you get a very affirming crowd reaction once you have completed it!
Also, if you want to take a trip down puzzle memory lane, you can go back and find the whole collection on our website at this LINK. | | | | Just as we’d hoped, things are starting to pick up again at church as we head into fall. There is increased energy around our three missions:
 Worship Hospitality Outreach
It is WHO we are; it is what we do. I hope you will feel led to participate even more fully in the life of the parish in the weeks and months ahead, as God guides us to use our gifts to make a difference in this world.
 Faithfully,
 Fr. George | | | | |
