Dear Friends in Christ:

When I first interviewed with the search committee of St. Tim's back in 2016, at the end of our two-hour conversation I asked to see the worship space. As I rounded the corner by the pulpit, my eyes fell on this stunning and unique Tiffany Annunciation Window, and I said, "You had this in your pocket the whole time?!?"

And lo, I became your Rector.

It's amazing how beautiful things can change our lives in big ways and small. I hope you'll consider joining us at 10pm Christmas Eve for our most beautiful service of the year.

On to the updates . . .

EPIPHANY EVENTS

After the twelve days Christmas, we celebrate Epiphany, on January 6th. We've got lots of things happening on January 8th to mark the occasion, including our monthly Children's Sunday at 10am.

We will bless chalk at both services for those interested in chalking their doors for the new year.

Our ECW group will host their annual Epiphany Tea in the parish hall, following the 10am service.

And then, at 5pm, our choir will be joined by singers and musicians from St. Paul's in Canton, as well as New Life in Uniontown, and Trinity in Alliance, for a service of Lessons at Carols at 5pm. A reception will follow.

ADVENT RECITAL SERIES

Yesterday, our Advent Recital Series wrapped up with a stunning performance by our friend and former organist, Levi Muriuki. All four recitals were well received, and the sound in our sanctuary is better than ever with the new wood floor. If you missed any of these recitals, or would like to experience them again, you can find them at the links below--with the exception of Michael Lucas, whose lovely vocal performance was not streamed due to technical difficulties.

November 30: Chad Pittman

December 7: Loren Veigel

December 21: Levi Muriuki

YEAR-END CONTRIBUTIONS

The Treasurer has asked me to remind you that there are nine more December days to make tax-deductible contributions for your tax-planning purposes. You can contribute using checks or through the secure link on our website which is HERE.

MOTHER MO IS A PRIEST!

Last Thursday, at a beautiful service in Boardman, OH, our former seminarian, Mo Major was ordained into the priesthood. Our choir offered up a new composition by Choirmaster Andrew Bolden, written for the occasion, and our long-time friend Levi Muriuki accompanied the choir. You can find a video of the entire service at the Diocesan Facebook page HERE.

St. Timothy's bought Mo a new tippet, which is sort of like a long black scarf, worn for the daily office and other non-Eucharistic services.

WINTER CONVOCATION, Feb. 3-4, 2023

Our Diocesan Winter Convocation is back in person! And, not only that, our Bishop-elect, the Rev. Anne Jolly will be in attendance. The Diocese has a policy that any congregation sending six or more adults gets a 50% refund on all registrations. (This is what is commonly called, A Bargain.)

If you're interested, I'd love to have you join me. There is lodging available at the lodge, but it's a little pricey. Other hotels are nearby, or one could drive up and back each day. More information can be found HERE.

PRAYERS REQUESTED

When you ask for someone to be added to the prayers, they will stay on our list for four weeks unless we hear from you. We will maintain a continuing prayer list for those with ongoing needs. The email list below merges both lists.

Please be sure to let us know if someone should be taken off this list so we can focus on those in need.

Please pray for the people of Ukraine & Russia, that they would be kept safe and live in peace and safety.

And please also keep these friends and parishioners in your prayers:

Matt and Reena Kurian will celebrate their Texas anniversary on January 2nd.

Be sure to send good wishes and thoughts to all who celebrate in the coming weeks!

PERIODIC PUZZLE

As of this writing, we're still waiting for a baby. So I figure you could use an empty-manger puzzle to remind you of that. You can find said puzzle by clicking HERE.

As always, you can choose your background color, number of puzzle pieces, and even set it to display just the edge pieces. Plus, you get a very affirming crowd reaction once you have completed it!

Also, if you want to take a trip down puzzle memory lane, you can go back and find the whole collection on our website at this LINK.

It seems as though we're in for some stormy weather over the next couple days. If you're out and about, please be careful. And don't forget to check in on your neighbors. Though I'd love to see your smiling face in church this weekend, if it seems risky to be driving, please stay home. Our services will be livestreamed at 10pm Christmas Eve, and at 10am Christmas Day.

Merry Christmas to you all (as of sundown on Saturday, of course).

Faithfully,

Fr. George
