heneghan peng architects rose to international prominence in 2003, when its designs for the Grand Egyptian Museum was selected from over 1,500 competition entries. Scheduled to open in 2018, the museum will feature a translucent stone facade and dramatic views of the nearby Giza Pyramids.  

Founded in New York in 1999, heneghan peng relocated to Dublin, Ireland in 2001. Its work spans a variety of scales and typologies, from urban master plans and major cultural facilities to offices and bridges.  

Stephen Rustow is a principal of museoplan and a professor at the Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture.

Misunderstandings


The encounter between CAMPO and Le FRAC Centre-Val de Loire of Orleans produced MISUNDERSTANDINGS, a project which, by addressing one of the most important archives of architectural experiments worldwide, opens a reflection on the operative value of museums and collections for the contemporary discourse and practice of architecture.

Curated by Gianfranco Bombaci, Matteo Costanzo, Luca Galofaro and Davide Sacconi, with the assistance of Caroline Lacroix and Alessandro Toti. 
 
Featuring the work of Andrea Branzi, Bernard Calet, Günther Domenig and Eilfried Huth, David Georges Emmerich, Hiromi Fujii, Ludger Gerdes, Günter Günschel, Bernhard Hafner, Toyo Ito, Mathieu Mercier, Walter Pichler and Guy Rottier.  With the contributions of Black Square, BuildingBuilding, Matilde Cassani, Lukas Feireiss, Saba Innab, LIST, Manthey Kula, OBRA, OMMX, PioveneFabi, UHO and Vazio S/A.

2018 Menschel Fellowship Exhibition


The Benjamin Menschel Fellowship Program to Support Creative Inquiry was endowed by a grant given to The Cooper Union by the Horace W. Goldsmith Foundation in 1994 to support work in the fields of art, architecture, design and engineering. The program is designed to provide students in their penultimate year of study the opportunity to travel and research specific areas of personal interest. This year's fellows are Leslie Dougrou, Gabriel Munnich, Austin Richard Mayer, Kelsey Mitchell, Natalia Oliveri, Rachel Rosheger, Ida Pruitt and Zuzanna Sochaczewska . The exhibition includes projects on a range of cultural, environmental and social issues in Northern Ghana, California's border with Mexico, Florence and Siena, Italy, The Great Dismal Swamp of North Carolina, and the American West.

The exhibition is free and open to the public from 11AM through 7PM

Emre Arolat, Current Work:  The Scent of the Trace, Emre Arolat Architecture
Moderated by Adam Yarinsky


Arolat founded Emre Arolat Architecture (EAA) with Gonca Pasolar in 2004. Today, the firm has offices in London and New York in addition to Istanbul. Its projects have received the Mies Van der Rohe Award and the Aga Khan Award. Arolat has taught and lectured at design schools around the world, including Pratt and Yale, where he was the Norman R. Foster Visiting Professor. In 2012, he was a co-curator of the first Istanbul Design Biennale.

Adam Yarinsky is a partner at Architecture Research Office (ARO) and board member of Places Journal.
