I hope you enjoyed George Carl’s paintings last week. He has switched them out and provided a few others for us to admire this week. He is incredibly talented. Take time before or after service this Sunday to look at his artwork and talk to George.

May of 1979: The Northern Indiana Annual Conference of the Untied Methodist Church authorized the formation of two new churches and for teh committee to move forward.
May 17, 1981: Charter Sunday - 178 people became charter members and elected the first officers of the newly formed church. The UMW served its first church potluck dinner.
Text taken from a mailer (no date) : A study completed by the Calumet District found that nowhere is the rapid growth and transition of population in Lake and Porter counties more evident than is LOFS and surrounding areas and with it - the need for a new United Methodist congregation. As a result a nine acre site was purchased on 109th. Today that site is called, Church of the Four Seasons

May is the perfect time to plant a garden and the church's garden is now being prepared. Pat, our master gardener, is looking for people to donate vegetable plants. If you are eager to donate some veggies, drop the plants off at the church office.
The next church council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 18 6:30 pm. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend. The meeting will be held in the Agape Center.
Calling volunteers interested in hosting a church rummage sale on Saturday, July 3rd, from 8 am until 2 pm. All donations are welcome- start your spring cleaning! If anyone is interested in picking up donations from people's houses or sorting items throughout the week, please let us know so we can contact you. We will not be pricing items; consumers can make a free-will donation when they leave. This method will eliminate long lines of people and less contact. Thank you! Kathy Koval
