A Message from Pastor Tom…
I have thought a lot this week about questions. Pastors often appear to dislike questions. We seem to prefer clear-cut, unambiguous answers. Ironically, Christianity has always been characterized by differing opinions, conflicting theologies, and heated disputes. Virtually every denomination, including our beloved United Methodist Church, was born because of questions.

Yet, Jesus never feared a question. Instead, he taught in parables that resonated with the experiences of his listeners. There was a question to be answered within each parable, a revelation to be discovered, or a truth to be unveiled.

To question is never a denial of faith. On the contrary, a question is a wonderful way to deepening one’s relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Now that is genuinely Good News.

A message from Trustees:
Just a quick update to keep you informed regarding the church renovations.
Due to the illness of a few crewmembers at Hays and Sons, the construction was delayed. But the good news is by next week, work will once again resume. We all are working hard to accomplish this project.
Spiritual Disciplines Retreat

Superintendent, Rev. Dr. Marti G. Lundy, invites you to join her during the upcoming FREE Spiritual Disciplines retreat. During the retreat, participants will gain an understanding of what Spiritual Disciplines are. For more information, follow this link.
Bible Study Returns
The Gospel of Mark is a masterful retelling of the Good News of Jesus Christ. Cast in simple yet profoundly meaningful language, the Gospel calls us all to reconsider what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. Join us as we journey through the Gospel of Mark. In a relaxed small group atmosphere, we will consider Mark’s primary messages, his use of humor and irony to reveal Jesus’ mission, and the Gospel’s unexpected conclusion. Both sessions will last for 8 weeks. All are welcome to attend. Please contact Pastor Tom with any questions. Preregistration is not required.
