A Message From Pastor

Greetings Church Family,

It was brought to my attention that May 17 will be the 40^th anniversary of the Church of Four Seasons becoming an official United Methodist Church. Who would like to celebrate this endeavor? I am putting together a 40th-anniversary planning committee. We will have our first meeting on Thursday, March 18^th, at 6:30 p.m. in the Church Library, or you can join us on Zoom. Bring your ideas with you. Bring your memories with you. Let’s plan a celebration! We want to celebrate the past, the present, and the future of COFS!!

Finance Chair - Jane Wright

Greetings,

My name is Jane Wright, and I am the new Finance Chair for the Church of Four Seasons. I have been a member of this church for about 17 years. I have a bachelor's degree in business management with a major in accounting. I have worked in management accounting for 35 years.

My husband is Lee Wright. He has been an usher at COFS for many years and a trustee. We raised 2 children, Kyle and Ashlee, at this church. Over the years, I have been involved in Children's Ministries, the Church Council, the Finance Committee, Discipleship class co-leadership, and the Outreach Committee. I hope to do a good job as your finance chair.

Lent is the Christian season of spiritual preparation before Easter. The Lenten season's purpose is to set aside time to reflect on Jesus Christ- to consider his suffering and sacrifice, life, death, burial, and resurrection.

When I realized what a special day May 17th would be, I started dropping hints to Pastor Cathy. In order to promote the idea of having a celebration, I began scouring through the books on the history of the church, photo albums and newspaper clippings. The more I looked the more excited I became. I hope many of you will share my excitement and become interested in planning this celebration and sharing your memories with all of us. Also, for newer members of COFS, this is a wonderful time to reflect on the history, the energy and the stamina those before us brought to this church.

Charter Sunday – Our Special Day!

May 17 was a very important day for our congregation – a day we have been waiting for since December – the day we became a Church! Each family brought to the services a stone or rock , representative of that family , to be used in the foundation of our new church building. District superintendent, Dr. Ralph Steele gave his sermon on the growth of a new church. There were 182 of us who became charter members on that special occasion.

We’ve been hard at work these last few months making some exciting changes to our social media (and some boring guidelines for our team). Our newsletter editor Linda has been reformatting and fine-tuning our newsletter, which you’ve hopefully noticed. I’ve added a new platform to our digital arsenal and will soon be making that public for the congregation. There will also be some subtle changes to our existing Facebook page and we will begin to implement these slowly over the course of the next few weeks. We will of course still offer streaming worship services. Please make sure to find us on Facebook and follow our page.
