This Sunday, we will gather in community to begin the work of discerning God’s will for Church of Four Seasons United Methodist. Discernment is not simply planning or charting a preferred future. Authentic discernment is a radical entering into God’s life. After all, the Church is the Body of Christ. On Sunday, we will lift up many possibilities. Possibilities that will both challenge and inspire this faith community. We will consider our strengths, not lament our limitations. And, we will be guided by that fundamental truth that the resources of God’s Spirit are limitless for a missional people. Today, we hold in our hands the pen that will write the next chapter in the journey of Church of Four Seasons United Methodist. Our founders and all who have led and worshiped here have gifted us with a legacy of hope and faith. Let us accept the call to create our own legacy of service, love, compassion, and discipleship. I look forward to seeing everyone participate in this exciting opportunity.
