   Regardless of the area, John will be notified and pass it on to the appropriate Trustee.

Furnace:

The furnace in the youth room had to have the blower replaced ($700). The same furnace needed a board replacement ($700). This is cheaper than getting a whole new furnace. There are only two other major components to the furnace. All furnaces are good. They are all up and running.

We do have a contract with Summers.

   John, Bruce, and Bob will clean and inventory the closet.

Discussion Keys, Fobs, Entry Codes, and Alarm Codes:

   Entry codes will be changed. John will take this to Church Council. Certain members will have keys, fobs, and entry codes (Pastor, Church Council Chairs, and the Trustees). Others will have just an entry code.

   This is still under discussion.

Volunteers for Church Cleaning:

Will have signup sheets for two week rotations. Would like four volunteers for each two week rotation. A checklist of cleaning would be available for each week. The list will be available to the volunteers at the church. Volunteers will come in during the week as they are able. They don’t have to be at the church at the same time. The volunteers would initial each task that they completed.

Closed the meeting with a prayer: John

Pastor Cathy rushed into the office the other day, stating, " you aren't going to believe this, " and proceeded to tell me about a noise in the Agape Center and how she searched and searched for that noise.

Here is what Pastor Cathy had to say about the source of the noise...

   " There outside the window was a cardinal who likes to sit on the window sill. He taps 2 or 3 times on the window and stops. Then, he does it again until he gets my attention. When I look his way, he goes and sits in the tree. When I look away, he taps 2 or 3 times until I look his way again. Then, he sits in the tree. He is very entertaining. Thank you God!

Soon, everyone at service knew about the cardinal, and after service, many of us made a beeline to the window to see the cardinal. Sure enough, there he was. We must have frightened him because he only came to the window a few times but flew from tree to tree in front of us.

While watching our new friend, there were many shared stories and reflections about cardinals. Here is a story that sticks in my mind  ...

In the early morning, I usually read a devotional. This one morning, I repeatedly heard a loud and shrilling sound. I look around the room but can't figure out where the noise is coming from. I go outside and the noise gets even louder; I then look up and spot a cardinal. I return to read my devotional and open the book to a devotional about God speaking through the song of a bird."

Because of the fascination with our new visitor, he is unofficially the new mascot of COFS. But he is without a name. Any suggestions? Do you have a cardinal story? Please share.
