A Message From Pastor
Greetings Church Family,
Welcome to our first, weekly church newsletter. We are excited to use this tool of communication to let you know what is going on in the life of the church. This newsletter is a work in progress. The newsletter will be emailed
to you every Friday.
Through this newsletter, you will receive information on the different ministry areas, the monthly minutes for Church Council, and the Trustees, along with other committee meetings. You will receive information on how you can volunteer in different areas of the church. You will receive up-to-date information on Bible Studies and any new groups that are forming.
Find out who has a birthday or anniversary (which means we would like to enter your birthdays and your anniversaries in our church database. Please send these dates to Linda). We will have a section on Prayer: God Sightings, Joys, and Concerns, so that, we are up-to-date on who and what to pray for. Like I said, this is a work in progress.
If you have something to contribute to the newsletter, let Linda and/or myself know what you would like to share. Communication is key and we are going to do our best to Communicate to you. Praying you have a great week and that you stay safe.

Lent is the Christian season of spiritual preparation before Easter. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday. During Lent, many Christians observe a period of fasting, repentance, moderation, self-denial, and spiritual discipline. The Lenten season's purpose is to set aside time to reflect on Jesus Christ—to consider his suffering and sacrifice, life, death, burial, and resurrection. Many activities are scheduled here at COFS.

John Schmidt - Trustee Chair
I have a list of minor projects in the church that I continue to work on. The Trustee Committee has four active members, but we are looking for a few more to join our team and I also have an ongoing list of volunteers willing to help.
The furnace has been repaired but our work will really begin in the Spring. We will need to spruce up the grounds.
Currently, we are in need of volunteers on a weekly basis to clean and sanitize the church. There is a sign-up sheet in the office, if you are willing to help.
I will keep you posted on all projects going on at church.

Missy Buehrer - Council Chair 2021
My name is Missy Buehrer, and I'm the new Church Council chair for 2021. I am a para for special needs kids at Boone Grove HS and find myself incredibly blessed to work with these amazing students!
My husband Chris and I have been happily married for 28 years and have 2 amazing kids, Claire and Nathan. They are both attending Purdue University - Claire is 21 and is studying to be a Special Education teacher and will graduate in the Spring of 2022. Nathan is 19 and looking to get a degree in Paleontology and Mathematics with a minor in Russian and will graduate in 2023. We spent 9 years raising our kids within the walls of COFS, and we are very excited to be back!
As a church, I'm looking forward to what we can do to acknowledge the change that ALL churches are and have been going through in the last few years, ESPECIALLY, the last year! We have an amazing chance to reach out into our community and be the hands and feet of God and serve our community together.
I can't wait to reconnect with you all and hope to see you in Church soon!!

For those who cannot make it to service, we will offer a drive-thru imposition of ashes and a prayer between 10:00 a.m. and Noon. You can drive through the circle in the parking lot.

If you would like to reserve an individual meal or meals, please email us at cofsmeals@gmail.com or call the church. We are asking for donations of wide egg noodles and salads. We will be serving Turkey & Noodles, green beans, salad with ranch or French dressing, and cake for dessert.
