A Message from Pastor Tom…

A visitor to our church asked, “So why don’t you take up a collection?” Of course, we take up a collection. Our visitor simply wondered why there were no collection plates. The question got me thinking. Do we need to explain the changes we see at COFS? As one might suspect, COVID-19 has prompted a lot of changes. Passing the collection plate, signing attendance books, using hymnals, and greeting one another with hugs and handshakes have been temporarily put on hold. In the Lord’s Supper, we offer the bread and juice separately and provide a prepackaged option.

There are other changes going on as well. The plastic sheeting in the library and the large blue tarp covering the windows are all part of a major construction project designed to solve a number of longstanding problems. So, bear with us. Even amid all the changes we see, one thing remains constant, the Church of the Four Seasons United Methodist is carrying the Good News of Jesus Christ to our mission field.

Blessings,
Pastor Tom

Bible Study Returns
The Gospel of Mark is a masterful retelling of the Good News of Jesus Christ. Cast in simple yet profoundly meaningful language, the Gospel calls us all to reconsider what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. Join us as we journey through the Gospel of Mark. In a relaxed small group atmosphere, we will consider Mark’s primary messages, his use of humor and irony to reveal Jesus’ mission, and the Gospel’s unexpected conclusion. Both sessions will last for eight weeks. All are welcome to attend. Please contact Pastor Tom with any questions. Preregistration is not required.

Evenings, Wednesdays, 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Daytime, Thursdays, 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
