Dear 6th Street Community,
We hope this message finds you safe, secure, and illness free. During these past three years of fire, smoke, and now the new Novel Coronavirus Crisis, 6th Street Playhouse has always been committed to bringing you engaging professional quality theatre while maintaining the health and safety of our patrons and artists. However, with the necessary “Shelter In Place” rules in place and the uncertainty before us, the Board of Directors of 6th Street Playhouse has decided we must cancel the rest of our 2019-2020 season and School of Drama’s spring session.

The impact of these cancellations has forced 6th Street to furlough most of our staff including full-time and part-time employees, our teachers, and to cut the salaries of remaining staff. We hope to re-hire our team as soon as we are able.

The Board had hoped to present our 2020-2021 season weeks ago but because of these unknown times we had delayed the announcement. In the coming weeks as we understand the longer term ramifications of the situation, we will introduce our show lineup. We are excited to say that both The Legend of Georgia McBride and Hair will be moved to the 2020-2021 season.
Currently, we hope to resume our School of Drama programming with our Summer Camps starting in mid-June. Enrollment is still occurring with a deposit that is fully refundable should we have to cancel the camps.
Right now, while the theatre has no income, you can help the Playhouse by making a tax-deductible contribution through our website here . Your support will ensure the future of the Playhouse, which has provided Santa Rosa and Sonoma County with engaging theatre for nearly 50 years.
We look forward to the other side of this where we can all come together to celebrate and enjoy the stories on our stages. In the meantime, we will be sending links to past performances via email and social media, so you can still enjoy 6th Street Playhouse productions in the comfort of your own home. On Facebook, we will share other fun virtual theatre experiences from our friends on Broadway and other great theatre companies.
Thank you for your continued support of 6th Street Playhouse and your understanding of the steps we have taken for the survival of the theatre and school. May you, your family and friends, and our community be well.
The Board and Staff of 6th Street Playhouse
