We're Better Together
It's Mental Health Awareness Month. What better time to update you on our behavioral health project, Better Together.

Better Together in La Crosse County is an 8-year project funded by the Healthier Wisconsin Partnership Project of the Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin Endowment at the Medical College of Wisconsin. La Crosse County is one of 10 communities in the state of Wisconsin who received funding to work on improving behavioral health among its youth. The Better Together project seeks to reduce the number of youth, ages 12-18, who are at risk for depression. To achieve this goal, we are using four strategies.

Deml, Fjerstad join board
Please help us welcome Julie Deml and Andrew Fjerstad to our Board of Directors. Julie and Andrew were voted onto our board in February.

Julie Deml joined Logistics Health Incorporated (LHI) as an Accreditation and Regulatory Specialist in 2013. Julie assists with monitoring regulatory compliance, contractual requirements, accreditation standards and performs internal and external compliance audits.

Julie actively serves in volunteer roles for several professional organizations, including both the National and Wisconsin chapters of the Association Medical Staff Services. She began reviewing United Way grant requests in 2015, joined our Funds Distribution Steering Committee in 2017, and now leads that committee as its Chair.

In her free time, Julie enjoys reading, swimming, boating, playing games with family and friends, and attending sporting events. She and her children have been volunteering as a family at WAFER Food Pantry since 2014.

Welcome, Julie! We're glad to have you.

Andrew Fjerstad is the Director of Customer and Sales Support at Inland Packaging, a position he has held for just under one year.

Andrew majored in History, Norwegian, and Nordic Studies at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. He began his career with Target, leading various processes, initiatives, and stores throughout Minnesota before moving with his wife, Caitlin, to La Crosse. The couple is excited to set down roots in a community they can grow with and support.

When he's not enjoying the outdoors hunting and fishing, Andrew can be found with Caitlin, spending time with their dog, Jordy, and family and friends.

Welcome to the team, Andrew!
