"Hydrogen is a critical component of our energy future. Clean hydrogen made from hydropower provides carbon-free energy that can be used to power a range of hard-to-abate sectors. Hydrogen presents a unique opportunity for Washington as it can fuel heavy transportation sectors like trucking and aviation, support our seaports and cargo handling capabilities, and provide energy for generators, data centers, and refineries. Hydrogen also serves as a key molecule in producing clean fuels and chemicals like ammonia and fertilizer."
- U.S. Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA04)

| | Requests for Papers, Proposals, & Information | | |
NYSERDA’s advanced fuels team focuses on advancing technology development in low-carbon fuels space such as hydrogen, SAF, etc. NYSERDA is seeking information from entities either already pursuing, or interested in pursuing, a potential role in low-carbon fuels technology development in New York. This Request for Information (RFI 5985) will help inform the development of a potential competitive solicitation (PON) for clean fuels pilot projects, as well as associated R&D efforts, to advance clean fuel production opportunities within New York State.
The anticipated PON will focus on projects that utilize in-state waste feedstocks—such as landfill gas, municipal solid waste (MSW), wastewater sludge, agricultural residues, and waste CO₂—to support the development of scalable, low-carbon fuel pathways. Potential respondents include stakeholders interested in low-carbon fuel production technologies such as those working on technology research and development, project developers, financing/funding entities and other supply chain entities.
