BMI Releases Industry Barometer Survey Results for January
The Book Manufacturers’ Institute (BMI) released the January results for its monthly survey on capacity and lead times for soft cover and hard cover books. This month showed both capacities and lead times continuing to decline. Read more.

OSHA Alert: Time to Post Annual Form 300A Summary of Injuries and Illnesses; Penalties Jump More Than 7.7 Percent
January brings two items from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) that almost all employers will want to keep in mind. One is an adjustment to the penalties OSHA can impose for a violation of the Occupational Safety and Health Act and the other is a requirement to complete and post the OSHA Form 300A Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses by February 1. USPS S&DC Rollout Rolls On: Implementation and Impacts of Delivery Network Transformation
The Postal Service is in the process of implementing a large-scale initiative to transform its delivery network by relocating letter carriers from post offices to Sorting & Delivery Centers. The next round of “conversions” is set for February (affects Illinois, followed by more in June (affects Indiana). Read more on SavethePostOffice.com.
