PORT OF LOS ANGELES SEEKS APPLICATIONS FROM NONPROFITS FOR FY 2025/26 COMMUNITY INVESTMENT GRANT PROGRAM

The application process for the Port of Los Angeles’ Community Investment Grant Program is now open for non-profit organizations seeking FY 2025/26 funding or sponsorships for community-related events, programs and projects. The application deadline is March 24th.

11TH ANNUAL LUNAR NEW YEAR FESTIVAL

DRAWS OVER 500 GUESTS, DESPITE WEATHER

This year's Lunar New Year Festival welcomed the Year of the Snake, a symbol of resilience and renewal. This year's indoor venue at AltaSea's Berth 60 drew approximately 500 attendees. Guests enjoyed live entertainment, a petting zoo, arts & crafts, delicious Asian-inspired food truck cuisine and more.


From the City of LA's Civil Rights Department, Capri Maddox launched the 'Just Say Hello' campaign, which promotes anti-discrimination and belonging for all. "Just Say Hello is more than a greeting — it’s a call to action that unites our city through kindness and inclusivity,” Maddox said.

The Port of LA has released two high-tech drone videos showcasing both the breadth and depth of its cargo operations, as well as up-close and expansive views of the LA Waterfront and its many iconic attractions. The videos debuted during Port Executive Director Gene Seroka’s keynote delivered at the 10th Annual State of the Port event on January 23.

On January 28, Gene Seroka met with KCLA-LPFM's Station Manager Ziggy MrKich, and delivered the "Port Report", discussing People, Planet, and Performance.

HARBOR BREEZE CRUISES TO CONSTRUCT 'FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND' HYBRID VESSEL

All American Marine (AAM) and Harbor Breeze Cruises have signed an agreement to design and construct a new 33 m x 10 m hybrid passenger vessel for the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, California. This vessel will provide emissions-free harbor tours, whale watch cruises and dinner events, in and around Los Angeles and Long Beach port complex.

On Thursday February 27th, the Battleship USS Iowa will host a benefit concert for Los Angeles first responders to the recent Wildfires. The event will feature Kings of Chaos, Sammy Hagar, Robin Zander, Glenn Hughes, Steve Stevens, Orianthi, and Matt Sorum with more special guests to be announced.

AltaSea at the Port of Los Angeles, the nation’s leading hub for the blue economy, is pleased to announce that Jenny Krusoe, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, has joined World Ocean Council’s (WOC) board of directors, effective January 22, 2025.


The World Ocean Council is a global blue economy industry alliance organization, bringing together ocean industries to catalyze global leadership to address shared marine environmental issues in support of improved business operations and corporate ocean responsibility. WOC brings together the diverse ocean business community to collaborate on a shared vision of a healthy and productive ocean, as well as its sustainable use and stewardship by responsible businesses.

Catalina Express, Harbor Breeze Cruises, and the Port of Los Angeles have come together in an ambitious effort to advance zero-emission harbor craft technology. This project, known as the Los Angeles Marine Emission Reduction (LA MER) initiative, represents a significant step toward reducing greenhouse gas emissions and creating a cleaner, more sustainable maritime industry.
