On Saturday, September 14, the Port of Los Angeles hosted the annual

Free Public Boat Tours event. Over 2500 guests enjoyed tours aboard four vessels provided by Harbor Breeze Cruises, with vessels departing every half hour between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. from both Banning’s Landing Community Center in Wilmington and San Pedro's Downtown Harbor. LOS ANGELES HARBOR COMMISSION GREENLIGHTS $52 MILLION FENIX TERMINAL ON-DOCK RAIL PROJECT

The Los Angeles Harbor Commission has approved a lease amendment that finalizes plans for a $52 million infrastructure improvement project to significantly improve the on-dock rail capacity and reduce overall emissions at the Port of Los Angeles Pier 300 terminal operated by Fenix Marine ServicesConstruction is expected to begin next year.

SAN PEDRO WATERFRONT

Vivo on Harbor, located in the San Pedro Waterfront Arts District at the gateway to the Port of Los Angeles, is an eight-story building, designed by Culver City-based KFA Architecture, with 137 units with a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom floor plans above ground-floor retail space. Developed by Trammell Crow Co.’s residential arm High Street Residential, Vivo on Harbor is preparing for residents to move in this November.

Forty-five immigrants who had completed the long naturalization process took the oath to become official U.S. citizens on Tuesday, Sept. 17, during a ceremony aboard the USS Battleship Iowa at the Port of Los Angeles.
