LOS ANGELES CITY COUNCIL CONFIRMS JOHN A. PÉREZ AS NEW

HARBOR COMMISSIONER

California State Assembly Speaker Emeritus John A. Pérez will be joining the five-member Los Angeles Board of Harbor Commissioners, following a unanimous vote of approval today by the Los Angeles City Council. Pérez was nominated to serve as the newest Harbor Commissioner by Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass.

THE PORT OF LOS ANGELES ANNOUNCES THIS YEAR’S COMMUNITY AWARD GRANT RECIPIENTS

The Port of Los Angeles has awarded $1.23 million in grants to 40 local organizations to support programs, projects and events benefiting the Los Angeles Harbor area communities of Wilmington and San Pedro. A total of 65 organizations applied for Fiscal Year 2024/25 funding from the Port’s Community Investment Grant Program, which has supported a total of 374 community grants totaling more than $12 million since the program began in 2014.

VISITS THE PORT OF LOS ANGELES

The Port of Los Angeles recently welcomed Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, who met with Port Executive Director Gene Seroka and other Port officials, touring the nation’s busiest container port. The Prime Minister was accompanied by a delegation that included Croatian Ambassador to the United States Pjer Šimunović and Croatian Consul General Renee Pea, among other Croatian dignitaries.

The renovation will ensure that the aquatic animals housed at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium will continue to thrive in an optimal environment for years to come.
