CLEAN AIR PROGRESS AT

THE PORT OF LOS ANGELES

The Port of Los Angeles made significant clear air progress in 2022 compared with the previous year, according to the Port’s new Inventory of Air Emissions. Released today, the report shows emissions for calendar year 2022 are down from all port-related sources due to both a reduction in ships at anchor and the Port’s ongoing environmental initiatives.

The International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) today announced the ratification of a six-year contract between the ILWU and the Pacific Maritime Association (PMA).

SECOND EARTHCAM AT PORT

CAPTURES LIVESTREAM OF

WILMINGTON WATERFRONT

The Port of Los Angeles has added a second livestream camera, operated by EarthCam, expanding the view from the Los Angeles Main Channel in San Pedro to the East Basin in Wilmington. Both cameras stream in high resolution and share panoramic vistas from both sides of the iconic Vincent Thomas Bridge.

PORT RELEASES DRAFT SAN PEDRO WATERFRONT CONNECTIVITY PLAN, ANNOUNCES SEPTEMBER 28

PUBLIC INPUT MEETING

After extensive community and local stakeholder input, the Port of Los Angeles has released a draft Waterfront Connectiv ity Plan for San Pedro, a long-term planning and visioning document outlining strategies to better link Downtown San Pedro, surrounding neighborhoods and the larger region to the LA Waterfront and its many attractions. The plan is being developed in conjunction with SWA Group, a leading landscape architecture, planning and urban design firm.

Additionally, another community input meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28 to provide a more detailed presentation of plan elements and to obtain additional comments and public feedback.

PORT TO HOST SEPTEMBER 27 WILMINGTON WATERFRONT

COMMUNITY UPDATE MEETING

The Port of Los Angeles is inviting the public to attend a Wilmington Waterfront Community Update Meeting on September 27. This meeting will provide an opportunity for the public to learn about and ask questions regarding the Port's Wilmington Waterfront Development Projects. Spanish interpretation will be provided.

In what’s become a Labor Day tradition in San Pedro and beyond, crowds of runners, walkers and selfie-takers headed up and down the landmark Vincent Thomas Bridge early Monday morning, Sept. 4, for the 5.3-mile Conquer the Bridge event.

DESIGNERS UNVEIL WEST HARBOR'S UPDATED DESIGN FOR AMPHITHEATER

ON THE LA WATERFRONT

Among the more spectacular plans for San Pedro’s new West Harbor waterfront redevelopment is a 6,200-seat outdoor amphitheater that will feature an array of musical genres, including popular rock acts.

But the plan has drawn concerns about amplified sounds and other disruptions to nearby neighborhoods in south San Pedro.
