Celebrating women in maritime

This Women's History Month we're celebrating the vital contributions of women who drive the world's supply chain and navigate vast seas – from port operators and marine biologists to governemnt leaders and dockside workers.

The Baltic and Maritime Council (BIMCO) 2021 Seafarer Workforce Report highlighted a 45.8% increase in the number of women serving as seafarers since 2015, and this growth continues as women bring fresh perspectives, innovation and leadership to the maritime industry.

Professional networks, initiatives and programs are reinforcing the value of women in the industry, advocating for their leadership roles and breaking down barriers. As women in maritime create new opportunities, their collective passion fuels efficiency in shipping, advocates for sustainable policies and fosters an inclusive workplace that propels the entire industry forward.

Today and every day, let's remember to honor the trailblazers of maritime – past, present and future.
