Cabrillo Marine Aquarium is celebrating its 90th birthday by unveiling an $8 million renovation that includes a new life support system, a new Collections Room, and three new exhibits. Everyone is invited!
The new Life Support System will keep the flow and temperature controlled and the salt water clean. During the 18-month closure of its Main Exhibit Hall, the Aquarium also integrated a Welcome Exhibit that illustrates the collision of currents, bilingual signs promoting inclusivity, a Grunion Exhibit showcasing Cabrillo Beach's unique history, a Jelly Lab, and a new Collections Room, harkening back to the Aquarium's origins as a museum. Here, the Aquarium will showcase its collection of rare species, including whale bones and other treasures.
