LA WATERFRONT THIS FRIDAY

Looking for a festive way to kick off the July 4th holiday? The Port of Los Angeles Cars & Stripes Forever!® car show and celebration will be back and better than ever on Friday, June 27. Free and open to the public, this time-honored patriotic tradition and dazzling display of classic cars and motorcycles is not to be missed.
Marking its 16th year on the LA Waterfront, Cars & Stripes Forever! will take place from 5-10 p.m. under the Vincent Thomas Bridge at Harbor Boulevard and Swinford Street in San Pedro. The event will include live music, a thirst-quenching beer garden and a selection of food trucks offering tasty local fare. The event will culminate in a free fireworks show at 9 p.m.

The Budget Lab at Yale is a nonpartisan policy research center that provides in-depth analysis of federal policy proposals. Seroka provides the Port’s latest cargo data and comment on supply chain issues. |
PORT OF LA ANNOUNCES SIX-MONTH CLOSURE OF NORTHBOUND SR 47 ON-RAMP AT GAFFEY STREET IN SAN PEDRO

As construction continues on the Port of Los Angeles and Caltrans SR 47 Interchange Project, crews will close the northbound SR 47 on-ramp at Gaffey Street in San Pedro, beginning 7 p.m., Saturday, June 21, for approximately six months to perform retaining wall construction and roadway widening. From June 16-20, overnight closures to the northbound SR 47 on-ramp at Gaffey Street and off-ramp at Harbor Boulevard will occur in preparation for the work.
A suggested detour to an alternate northbound SR 47 on-ramp is accessible at N. Gaffey Street and Miraflores Avenue in San Pedro.

PORT OF LOS ANGELES ADOPTS
2025/26 FISCAL YEAR BUDGET
| The Los Angeles Harbor Commission today approved a 2025/26 fiscal year (FY) budget of $2.7 billion for the Port of Los Angeles, a 3.1% or $82.5 million increase over the previous fiscal year’s adopted budget. Port investments in the coming fiscal year will continue to focus on strategic priorities of business, community, sustainability and workforce development. | PORT COMPLETES CONSTRUCTION OF BERTHS 177-182 WHARF RESTORATION PROJECT |
The Port of Los Angeles has completed construction of the $22.7 million Berths 177-182 Wharf Restoration project located along the East Basin Channel in Wilmington.
Approved by the Los Angeles Board of Harbor Commissioners in September 2023, the project began construction in November 2023, and included constructing approximately 382 linear feet of concrete wharf, 62-feet-wide. Work also includes slope erosion repair and bollard upgrades.
The new wharf, designed in compliance with the Port’s seismic code, partially replaced a timber wharf that was extensively damaged in a fire that occurred in 2014.
| PIER 400 IN LOS ANGELES TO DEPLOY 20 ORANGE EV ELECTRIC TERMINAL TRACTORS |
APM Terminals Pier 400 at the Port of Los Angeles will deploy 20 electric terminal tractors from Orange EV by the end of July. The EVs represent nearly 30% of Pier 400’s diesel terminal tractor fleet.
Kansas City-based Orange EV has deployed more than 1,400 of its electric Class 8 terminal trucks with some 300 fleets in the US. The vehicles are compliant with Build America, Buy America standards, and are supported through a domestic service and parts supply network.
