LA CITY COUNCIL GIVES FINAL OK FOR LA WATERFRONT AMPHITHEATER | | |
West Harbor’s proposed 6,200-seat waterfront amphitheater received a final go-ahead from the Los Angeles City Council this week after considering last-minute objections by some hotel union members.
Councilmembers voted unanimously on Wednesday, Sept. 10, to back the plan, which the Los Angeles Harbor Commission approved in June.

The Port of Los Angeles' popular Free Harbor Boat Tours event, taking place on September 13, has reached capacity through the online reservation system. Limited standby options are available on a first come, first served basis. Lines will be cut off at capacity or until 1:00pm.
The free tours of America’s busiest port will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 13, from two locations: San Pedro's Downtown Harbor and Wilmington's Waterfront Promenade.

MELANIE ROBERTS APPOINTED AS PORT'S
NEW HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR

The Port of Los Angeles has appointed Melanie Roberts as its new Human Resources Director. She will oversee employment operations for nearly 1,000 Port employees.
Roberts began her career with the City of Los Angeles in 2008. Most recently, she served as Senior Personnel Analyst II with the Personnel Department, where she also worked as liaison to LA Sanitation & Environment. Earlier roles included positions at Los Angeles World Airports, the Bureau of Contract Administration, and the Bureau of Street Services.
