Rocket Blast Day
Popcorn Top Sellers - April 27

Get ready to Blast Off! The top selling Scouts who filled an order sheet during the popcorn sale are invited to attend the Rocket Blast Day event, taking place Saturday April 27th at J. Warren Cutler Scout Reservation. Check in opens at 8:00am and rocket launches begin at 9:00am.

Popcorn Sale Information Sessions

You spoke, and we listened. Based on your feedback, exciting changes are in the works for the 2019 Popcorn Sale. And, in an effort to further improve the sale for your Scouts and your units, we’re conducting Focus Groups / Information Sessions to learn even more about what you’d like to see.  Whether your unit has been selling for ten years, or if your Scouts haven’t sold popcorn in a while, we want to hear from you. Plus you’ll get a sneak peek at some of the proposed changes for this year’s sale, and you’ll have a chance to win prizes just for attending.

Radio Merit Badge
April 27

Interested in radio communications and the differences between broadcast radio and hobby radio? This is the merit badge course for you! On April 27 th we are offering the Radio Merit Badge instructed by the Rochester Amateur Radio Association. This badge is not available at summer camp. The council offers a variety of different merit badges all led by Counselors who are knowledgeable in their fields of study.
Massawepie Trail Volunteers Needed

Who keeps the many miles of trails at Massawepie Scout Camps clear and open for Scouts to hike? Volunteers! And more volunteers are needed, especially in two areas: Short-term Boardwalk construction in a boggy area on Saturday, June 1st, and Longer-term Trail adopters, to maintain 1-3 miles of Massawepie trail on a regular basis. Eagle Scout Yearbook Print Directory

If you are an Eagle Scout and you have received a yellow postcard in the mail, this is a periodic outreach by the National Eagle Scout Association to reach out to our alumni and update the records. We encourage you to call the 800-number and update your information and purchase a directory if you so choose.
Fishing Derby
April 27

Over 100 new fish will be stocked in Lake Wellington at J.Warren Cutler Reservation in advance of the Council fishing derby! For the price of $15.00, Scouts will have a morning of fishing with a two fish limit, a freshly stocked lake and a commemorative event patch. Prizes will be awarded to the first 75 youth who catch two fish prior to 11:00 a.m. end time. All you need to do is bring your fishing pole, your own bait if you would like, and join the fun. Camping is available for those who are interested.
Safe Boating Class
May 11th

Want to learn to boat safely? Sail on over to Sea Scout Ship 303. They are hosting a course at the Newport Yacht Club that will cover safety in using and maintaining different boats and seacrafts. It's an 8-hour certification course (registration fee required). If you were born on or after May 1, 1996 you need this certification if operating any motorboat. Personal watercrafts require certification of anyone 4 years of age or older.
BALOO
May 18

Cub Scout Leaders and Parents should learn how to effectively prepare and run a fun-filled overnight and outdoor adventures for their Cub Scout Program. The BALOO course being held on May 18 at Camp Cutler will teach Cubs how much fun they can have in the great outdoors. Den Leaders, Cubmasters, or Committee Members should take this course before it too late!

Youth Protection Course
As of March 1, 2019, the online Youth Protection Training Course was replaced with an updated version. If you have already completed the current Y01 Youth Protection Training you are not be affected. If you have't completed it you will need to start over and take the full course. Completions will not be recorded in  my.scouting.org  until you have completed all 3 modules and the certification test. To print your completion certificate, return to  my.scouting.org , select "Menu" then "My Dashboard."
