Website Getting a New Look!

The council website committee has been busy working on giving the council website a fresh new look. We will be launching the new look shortly. As we launch it, there may be a few bugs to work out so please bear with us as we work on the finishing touches!
Knighthawks Scout Night
April 6th

Scout Night with the Knighthawks is back with discounted tickets for Scouts, family and friends. Tickets just $12.  Come out and enjoy the fast paced game of Lacrosse with the Rochester Knighthawks. They play the Toronto Rock at 7:30 p.m. at Connors & Ferris Field at the Blue Cross Arena. DOWNLOAD FLYER
Safe Boating Class
May 11th

Want to learn to boat safely? Sail on over to Sea Scout Ship 303. They are hosting a course at the Newport Yacht Club that will cover safety in using and maintaining different boats and seacrafts. It's an 8-hour certification course (registration fee required). If you were born on or after May 1, 1996 you need this certification if operating any motorboat. Personal watercrafts require certification of anyone 4 years of age or older.
Fishing Derby
April 27th

The SWC Fishing Derby is almost here! Over 100 new fish will be stocked in Lake Wellington in advance of the fishing derby. Your chances of catching a fish are pretty high but not guaranteed. J. Warren Cutler Scout Reservation is a special fishing preserve and a fishing license is NOT required! There will be games and challenges for kids, archery, fish cleaning, guided overlook hike, and fly-tying demonstrations all morning long. All you need to do is bring your fishing pole, your own bait if you would like, and join the fun.
Train for the Outdoors
May 10th

At least one leader is required to be BALOO trained whenever a Pack or Den holds an outdoor activity. This is a hands-on session that includes Outdoor Program Planning, Health and Safety, Nature Hikes, Camping Gear Basics, Games, and Cub Scout Cooking. Space is filling, so register now before its full!
Camp Cards Fund Summer Fun
Ends May 31st

Are your new Scouts having a hard time paying their way for camp? The 2019 Camp Card is an excellent way to help those new crossovers or recruited youth. There are 3 levels of commission, and as a Unit it decides on which commission, and then which card! In 2019, there are 2 Camp Card options: Monroe County or Finger Lakes! Each with different discounts for your customers. The sale ends on May 31, so make sure your Pack/Troop/Crew/Post registers now!
Journey of Faith Hike

Take a 5 mile urban hike exploring various faiths centers including Jewish, Quaker, Baha’i and others. For a nominal fee, Scouts will receive a patch and snacks for just $10 per person. Come prepared for conditions of a city hike, a day pack, water bottle, hiking essentials, and rain gear. No pets or animals on hike, due to the fact that several places of worship will be visited.
Youth Protection Course Updated - **NEW **
As of March 1, 2019, the online Youth Protection Training Course was replaced with an updated version. If you have already completed the current Y01 Youth Protection Training you are not be affected. If you have't completed it you will need to start over and take the full course. Completions will not be recorded in  until you have completed all 3 modules and the certification test. To print your completion certificate, return to , select "Menu" then "My Dashboard." Your Youth Protection Training Certificate can be printed by selecting the printer icon in the "YPT Status" area.  Please cont act Chuck Arnold, Assistant Council Commissioner for Youth Protection at 585-469-1462 or  if you have any questions.
