Camp Card Drawing Winners

Since Camp Cards Kicked off in February, we have had three drawings for a free week of summer camp at one of Seneca Waterways summer programs at Massawepie Scout Camps, Camp Babcock-Hovey, & Cub Scout Adventure Camp. Not only do the Scout who sells the most cards get entered for a drawing, but also the Scout Units who sell enough cards do as well. Here are the Camp Card Drawing Winners to date:

The last drawing will be on May 21 for those Scouts and Units currently participating. However There are still a few weeks left before the sale ends on May 31. STEAM Summer Camp
July Sessions

Students entering 7th, 8th, or 9th grades in the fall of 2019 can register for STEAM summer camps at the FLCC Campus Centers. Three camps available: (technology ( Victor ); Computing Science ( Newark ); and Forensic Science ( Geneva ). Students will focus on FLCC values, challenging them to inquire, persevere, make connections, and practice being vital members of the community.
First Responder Camp

Open CO-ED registration to anyone up to 21 years old. Exploring First Responder Camp is one of Babcock-Hovey’s Expedition Camps which are designed to refine your skills, challenge your limits, and for Explorers – help you develop a deeper understanding of the Emergency Services.

Popcorn Sale Focus Groups - Information Sessions

On behalf of the Council Popcorn Committee, we’d like to invite you to share your feedback, and get a first look at some exciting changes in the works for the 2019 Popcorn Sale. 
Whether your unit has been selling for ten years, or if your Scouts haven’t sold popcorn in a while, this is a great opportunity to shape the direction of our Council product sale. These 90 minute sessions are taking place at three different locations throughout our Council next week. We’ll be giving away prizes at each focus group session, but you have to be in attendance to win. And units that have not sold popcorn in the past two years will automatically earn bonus commission for the 2019 sale if they have a representative attend.
Focus Group Dates & Locations ( pre-registration required ) :

  • Sun. April 28th 6:00 – 8:00pm @ Council Service Center
  • Mon. April 29th 7:00 – 8:30pm @ Penfield Recreation Center
  • Wed. May 1st 6:30 – 8:00pm @ United Methodist Church in Clifton Springs

Space is limited, so reserve your spot ahead of time.
Fishing Derby
April 27

Over 100 new fish will be stocked in Lake Wellington at J.Warren Cutler Reservation in advance of the Council fishing derby! On April 27, For the price of $15.00, Scouts will have a morning of fishing with a two fish limit, a freshly stocked lake and a commemorative event patch. Prizes will be awarded to the first 75 youth who catch two fish prior to 11:00 a.m. end time. All you need to do is bring your fishing pole, your own bait if you would like, and join the fun. Camping is available for those who are interested Register Now!
Popcorn Top Sellers - April 27

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a rocket, and it’s approaching quickly! Our Council Rocket Blast Day event, for popcorn top sellers, is taking place this Saturday April 27 th at J. Warren Cutler Scout Reservation. This will be the last chance to participate, as we’re changing our prize incentives for the 2019 Product Sale. In order to make sure we can accommodate all rocketeers, please reserve your spot at Blast Day today! 2019 Outdoor Retailer Inspiration Awards
Deadline May 3

Nominations are open now for the Youth category in the 2019 Outdoor Retailer Inspiration Awards. The deadline to nominate someone is 5pm on May 3. The ideal nominee is a young person (ages 16-21) who shows leadership, serves his or her community, and inspires others to enjoy nature! Wilderness First Aid
June 21-22, 2019

Do you camp, travel, or work in remote locations where medical care is more than an hour away? Then this Wilderness First Aid course is for you! Learn to understand and manage common medical illnesses and emergencies when more advanced care is not immediately available. The course combines presentations about common wilderness first aid situations with active skills practice. Hands-on scenarios allow both Leaders and Scouts to experience emergencies in a realistic setting, and put their knowledge and skills together in a team-based approach. This is required training for any unit going to Philmont, Seabase, or any High adventure program. Our next course will be June 21-22, 2019 at Camp Babcock-Hovey. Recommended for youth 14-17 (with leader recommendation), and Adult age 18 and older! Course fee is $120 per person, and covers all materials and meals. Space is limted

Youth Protection Course
As of March 1, 2019, the online Youth Protection Training Course was replaced with an updated version. If you have already completed the current Y01 Youth Protection Training you are not be affected. If you have't completed it you will need to start over and take the full course. Completions will not be recorded in  until you have completed all 3 modules and the certification test. To print your completion certificate, return to , select "Menu" then "My Dashboard."
