Lifeguard Training
January 1, 2019
BSA Lifeguard is designed to help your Scout unit participate in aquatics activities. This 9-10 session course help you to learn how
to supervise troops in aquatic activities, such as troop swims and canoe trips. If you are scout this a great way to help land a summer job (like summer camp!) As an extra bonus, it will help get yourself back in shape for the summer.
Class size is limited, register early (using form available online) at the Scout Service Center by January 21st, 2019.

Prepare to Race
Make sure your Pinewood Derby Car is ready to race! You will find the most up to date rules regarding the Council Pinewood Derby. All participants who are racing in a Pack, District or Council Pinewood Derby must adhere to the guidelines, so don't be left behind! Download your copy now!

Arctic Challenge
January 18-21, 2019
The 6th Annual Massawepie Arctic Challenge is happening January 18-21, 2019 over Martin Luther King Day Weekend. This is a great opportunity to experience Massawepie that very few get to see. Winter camping and activities offer new challenges for your scouts. Stay indoors or push your limits and stay outdoors, The Arctic challenge will something your scouts never forget. Space is limited so register soon before it fills!

University of Scouting
March 2, 2019
The University of Scouting is being held on Saturday March 2nd, 2019 at the Rochester Institute of Technology. This supplemental day of training is perfect for adults and youth for only $20. You can save $5 per person by registering by January 14. There are courses offered for all Scouting programs within the Seneca Waterways Council. Register now as space is limited!

Youth Protection Training is required for all adult leaders for Packs, Troops, Crews, Ships, and Explorer Posts. You may take the training online at my.scouting.org or in-person at the Council Service Center on any of the dates listed above.
These in-person training sessions at the council office offer participants the opportunity to ask questions.

Job Opportunities
Assistant Camp Ranger:
Seneca Waterways Council is hiring for two part-time assistant rangers to join our ranger team at J. Warren Cutler Scout Reservation. If you are interested in this position please complete the application process through Indeed. If you know of someone that might be interested, please send them the link. We anticipate that interviews will take place in early November.
Program Aides
for the City Scouting Outreach program
- part time position. The Council is seeking high energy, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individuals to help deliver the in-school Scouting program in the City of Rochester. Candidates should be available mostly between 2:30pm - 5:30pm. Morning and Saturday hours are available as well. Contract position through July 5, 2019.
