Message from Mrs. Rach

Happy November!  As a school community, we’ve been working together to support our troops in a variety of ways over the past few weeks.  Last week we held two different drives, a Halloween candy drive organized by our Star Council Students and our Stars for Troops drive organized by our 3rd grade students and Mrs. Johnson. Both of these drives had great participation and we would like to thank those who donated.

Thursday, we celebrated Veteran’s day with a concert hosted by our 3rd grade students.  They did a great job hosting, speaking and singing for our families, students and veterans in attendance.

Cushing News & Announcements

Student Progress Communication and Feedback

One of our collective school goals is to improve feedback and communication with families about how students are progressing throughout the year. Between now and the end of December, you will receive a progress report about your child.  As a midpoint between conferences and semester report cards, we wanted to provide an update on reading, writing, math, and citizenship. Please take some time to review this update on your child’s progress.

Cooler Weather

The cooler temperatures outside are a reminder that winter is right around the corner and that we need to start wearing layers of clothes to school. Please make sure that you start sending your child(ren) with a coat labeled with their name in case they forget it on the playground. Also, keep in mind that snow pants, boots, jackets, hats, and gloves will be needed in the near future when temperatures drop and snow is on the ground. Again, please make sure all outdoor clothing is labeled with your child(ren)'s name.
