Message from Ms. Hanson

Dear Families,

This week, as a school, we started to dive into the topic of respect. During student services lesson time this week, Mrs. Wiseman worked with each class to start generating ideas around what respect looks like, feels like, and sounds like. Students in grades 3-5 wrote their thoughts on post-it notes, and students in grades K-2 worked together as a class to brainstorm on chart paper. The ideas generated this week will be used to create classroom respect agreements next week. We are encouraging our Cushing stars to think about what respect looks like, feels like, and sounds like, not just here at school but also at home and in outside settings in the community as well. I encourage you to have a conversation at home with your child(ren) related to what respect should look like, feel like, and sound like. If you would like to take a look at some helpful videos related to respect, these may be helpful to guide your preliminary discussions:

Updated Cushing Staff “Mothers’ Room”

A group of passionate Cushing Moms have come together after a realization was made last winter about the state of our Staff "Mothers' Room". A Parent-lead proposal was made in May 2022 to the PTO for an update to the current space for the '22-'23 Budget. Due to the PTO’s large playground commitment, funds could not be allocated towards this project.

Therefore, this group of Cushing Moms are moving forward to make the update happen. Painting and organization is already underway, but we are in need of a few items to complete this space.

The MUST HAVE items are noted for ease HERE (ships directly to Cushing). Donations from home are encouraged for decor or you could buy elsewhere. It’s inspiration for what we need to fill the space. Just mark and drop off at Cushing. We are grateful for any and all contributions.

PLEASE HAVE ITEMS ORDERED BY FRIDAY, MARCH 3RD

Please email [email protected] (Megan Stevens) if you have any questions.
