Message from Mrs. Rach
Happy 2022 families! I hope this message finds you all well and enjoying the start to a healthy New Year. As we head into 2022, I found it timely to update you on our school goal. This year we are focusing on building our teacher "toolkit" in meeting the wide range of learners in our classrooms here at Cushing. We have been monitoring our progress towards this goal through a variety of formal and informal measures and will continue to do so through the spring. We use the information from these measures in the classroom regularly when we think about our instruction, intervention, and in planning our small groups. Recently, we have begun more formal mid-year checks and are excited to see the growth of our learners!

I am also happy to share with you that Cushing received a “Significantly Exceeds Expectations” ranking on the most recent Department of Public Instruction (DPI) accountability report or state report card. The Kettle Moraine School District received its best-ever overall score, 84.7, which Significantly Exceeds Expectations. We are looking forward to continuing a school year of learning and growing with and from each other. As always, we appreciate the support of our families outside of school. When you read, play games, or even talk about school with your child(ren), you are supporting our efforts each day. Thank you!
Cushing News & Announcements
Snow Pants & Boots
The cold temps have arrived! Please have your child(ren) bring their snow gear bag to school EVERY day. As long as it’s zero and above (with wind chill), students will be getting some fresh air.

5K-3rd Grade: Snow Pants AND boots must be worn to play in the snow. If a student forgets their snow gear, they will stay on the blacktop for recess. This can cause lots of tears, so please remind your student to bring their snow gear to school every day.

4th & 5th Grade:  Boots are required, Snow Pants are optional for recess.

**Reminder - Snow Gear MUST go home every day. We need to keep the hallways clear for our evening cleaning crew. Plus, wet snow gear doesn’t dry well at Cushing (it can get smelly, too).**
