We are extending an opportunity to volunteer for Recess Supervision. Please note that before any parent/guardian can volunteer at recess, they must meet with me for one of our Recess 101 Training Sessions.

You can sign up for the Recess 101 training (April 11th or 12th) and the recess spots you are interested in volunteering for by clicking HERE. Please reach out to me if you have any questions.

Join the KMMS Family Advisory Workshop - Next Wednesday, April 13th
Elementary families (especially those in the upper grades) are invited to join a KMMS Family Listening Session / Workshop this coming Wednesday, April 13th at 6:30 p.m. at KMMS. We will provide a summary of some of the issues facing our school now and in the future, and seek your input and feedback on those issues. It will be a great opportunity to learn some things and provide your input as we look ahead to our middle school's future. Come prepared to interact with other KM families and teachers.

Blessings in a Backpack
This week, Advocate Aurora Health stopped by Cushing with a generous donation for Blessings in a Backpack. We are thankful for the support of our community partners like Aurora and Blessings in a Backpack and appreciate all they do for our school!
Light It Up Blue - Friday, April 29
Cushing will Light it Up Blue, on Friday, April 29th, for Autism Acceptance Month. Please encourage your student to wear something blue that day in honor of Autism Acceptance. Be sure to watch CNN that day for a special Autism Acceptance Presentation. You can go to the Library Media Center, CNN link, on our Cushing website to see it.

Help Support a KM Family
We are lucky to have the Knight-Dean family (Aubree - 2nd Grade, Harry - 3rd Grade, Landon - 6th Grade, Sophia - 9th Grade) be part of our KM Family. Last June, their youngest sibling, Max, was diagnosed with Leukemia and is currently undergoing treatment that requires many days of hospital stays.

We have put together another Meal Train in hopes of helping them out through the rest of the school year. Meals can be dropped off at their home. DoorDash gift cards are also appreciated if cooking isn’t your strong suit. Click HERE for more information.

The meals are greatly appreciated during this difficult and hectic time. Thank you!

To support and learn more about Max's journey, follow the Mighty Max Knight's Fight Club group on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/557310598596227/

Spring Book Fair
We are excited to announce the upcoming Scholastic Spring Book Fair at Cushing. The fair will run from April 19th-22nd. The fair is run by volunteers and we could use your help!

Volunteering is a fun way to help out with the event, meet new people and help students when purchasing items at the fair. Volunteering will consist of being present at the book fair to help students and parents select books and also using the registers to check them out. Each shift is about 2 hours long. Book Fair Committee members will provide training and assistance to all volunteers.

We appreciate any time you can give at the fair. Please use the link below to sign up for as many spots as you would like.
Thanks in advance for making this book fair a success for our students.
