Message from Mrs. Rach
What a great week! It was so nice to see our students and families back at Cushing during this first week. Connection, communication, and sharing feedback with our families is important to us and it was great to start the year out connecting with each other. We are interested in learning about what kinds of feedback our families appreciate as well as communication preferences. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey if you did not complete it at Open House.

We also appreciate your patience and understanding as we settle into our routines. One of these routines is our Car Line. Our Car Line entrances have changed from last year, and may change as we get a feel for the traffic flow throughout the year.

A Few Car Line Reminders:
  • At the start of the day, students will be allowed to enter the building at 8:20. Please keep this in mind as you consider your arrival time for the rest of the year. There are very few cars lined up after 8:25.
  • Visor tags have been distributed. You can also make your own - a sheet of paper with your LAST name in large letters will do just fine!
  • Please display the visor tag at dismissal time to keep cars flowing smoothly.
  • Please pull as far forward as possible when you line up.
  • Parents should remain in the Car Line and patiently wait until a staff member directs your student to your vehicle.
  • Students should enter and exit the vehicle on the side that is closest to the building.
  • The more cooperation we have with the pick-up process, the smoother, quicker and safer the pick-up process will be.

There is no obligation to order. If you decide to order, you can complete your purchase for photo print and specialty products online (or via the mail if you prefer to order with the paper proof). All photo orders will be mailed directly home to the address provided during checkout and will be shipped within 2-5 business days.

Picture Retake Day - Tuesday, October 12
If your learner did not have their picture taken, or they need a re-do, picture retakes will be held in the morning on Tuesday, October 12.

Bus Riders - Assigned Routes
Students are not allowed to ride home on friends’ buses. They may only ride to and from home on the bus they are assigned to.

Three or Four-Year-Olds Wanted
The Kettle Moraine School District’s Early Childhood Special Education Department is continuing the Preschool Integration Program at Dousman. Through this program we invite general education students to learn alongside students with special education needs. We are looking for 3 and 4 year old peer models to join our Early Childhood Special Education class at Dousman Elementary School for the 2021-2022 school year. This program is at no cost to peer models; however parents would need to provide transportation and complete Kettle Moraine School District enrollment paperwork. Please contact Tricia Anderson at (262) 965-6520, ext. 8701 or [email protected] to set up a visit and complete a brief developmental history. Thank you!

Cushing Family Directory 2021-22
Please take a moment to fill in your pertinent information for this year’s Cushing PTO's Family Directory.

The Cushing Family Directory is offered by the PTO each year as a convenience to share contact information with other Cushing families. To participate in the 2021-22 Cushing Family Directory, you MUST complete a form for EACH of your children attending Cushing, as the KM District does NOT share your information with the PTO. Also, your information is not carried over from year to year.
To read more and to submit your information, please click: Cushing PTO Directory 2021-22.

Cushing PTO Volunteer Form
The PTO is a great way to connect with others at Cushing. We have opportunities to volunteer regularly at school in the library or teacher work room, or to occasionally drop off an item to support teacher appreciation, or help with an event. Please complete this Volunteer Form so we can share the opportunities with you. The school and district do not share your contact information with the PTO.
