Morning meetings, meet and greets and class meetings are well underway for our distance learners. This week learners have spent time getting to know their classmates through fun morning meeting activities. They have also started to practice using their Chromebooks to access activities, Google Meets and other useful instructional supports. Starting Tuesday, similar to our F2F students, distance learners will be meeting with their class starting with their morning meeting. Learners should be ready to go and logged on for their designated start time on Tuesday morning. If physical materials are needed, your child's teacher will communicate dates and times for pick up. The pick up location will always be the Kettle Moraine District Office (Lower Level). The address is: 563 A.J. Allen Circle, Wales.
If your learner had their picture taken at school or at Brandybrook, you should be receiving an email from Empire Photography containing a link to your learner’s private, PIN-protected online photo gallery. You will see their image(s) in the gallery and will be able to pick a background to use for your order.
There is no obligation to order. If you do decide to order, you can complete your purchase for photo print and specialty products online. All orders will be mailed directly home and will be shipped within 2-5 business days.
One School, One Book
As we start the year, Cushing 5K - 5th graders will be participating in a school-wide reading club called One School One Book. Every student will receive a copy of the book, The World According to Humphrey. Throughout the start of the year, we will all be participating in collaborative school wide activities that unite the student body around this book. With the entire school reading the same book, there is sure to be a buzz of excitement in the building!
Through the One School One Book program, our goal is to build a community of readers which includes students, parents, teachers and other school staff and in the future will be sharing topics to discuss at home with your learner(s).
